Your children and what they like
I was just reading the kid swap and the ages and what the kids like. There were very few who participated. Do yall actually spend the ten dollars or do you spend more, it looked like more? But this is what I really want to ask. What are your children's ages and what do they like? I just want to compare it to my grandchildren and what they like. I love children of all ages and think they are the most interesting people in the world. I loved reading the ages and what the children are interested in at that age.
My granddaughter is 6, she loves dolls, fairies, playing games on the computer, just learning to jump rope, bubbles, taking baths, children's movies, digging in the dirt or sand, playing in water of any kind, dancing and anything dancing. Seeing that there is an 8 yr old interested in the movie High School I think I will get that for her. I thought she was a little young for that but I am glad to see she isn't. She plays more with the computer than she does with toys. She likes dresses and feminine things. She has been wearing a pair of plastic princess high heel shoes most of the summer when she hasn't been barefooted.
My grandson is 4. He plays with toys more. He likes anything Thomas the tank, he likes building things and taking them apart. His favorite toy right now is a gadget that you open bottles and jars with that you can't open with your hands. He likes tinker toys, any kind of toy that connects together to build something. He likes magnets. He loves cars, trucks, boats, trains , anything that moves. He also likes digging in dirt, sand, water play. He likes balls, being read to. He likes clothes with Thomas on them or other animals. He likes Sesame Street and Bob the Builder, of course Thomas movies. He prefers to wear boots.
My granddaughter has been reading for a year and now wants to learn to type like I do using the right fingers. Anyone have a good recommendation for a typing program for children? Thanks.

Mavis Beacon has a wonderful typing program for the younger as well as older children. We use it in the school for the 1st through 3rd graders. The 4th graders use Type to Learn 2. Both are great for the younger children.
Disney also had one out, but I am unfamiliar with it.

My daughter is 8 and she has her bedroom decorated in High School Musical. She loves the new musicals and I just recently introduced her to the old musicals; Greese and Hairspray. She is very artsy, loves to draw, color, paint and just do crafty things in general. She is an outdoors kind of girl, but still thinks she's a princess. She is the kind of kid that will be wearing a tiarra and princess dress while digging in the dirt for worms. She is starting to get into sports right now and is a natural when it comes to softball and soccer, but lacks some coordination with basketball.
