we paid $124 8 yrs ago, we are struggling to make the payments, they just reeval it this yr and now it is 147,000.We live in the poorer section of town. We even have the dope heads behind us. I would like to know what people do that they can afford 300,000 houses. They aren't working for the City of Raleigh for sure! You can't hardly find a house that is decent in Wake County under 200,000 here.

houses here for 2-3 bedrooms run from less than 50,000 and up land all depends on the area. my house has a full basement(3 rooms in it), we have 6 rooms upstairs(3 bedrooms)(all hardwood floors upstairs) 2 porches,3 acres,a garage and an outbuilding with 3 apple trees and 1 plum tree . we live just out of town limits and we only paid 32,000 for our house.we live less than a half mile from town. houses in my area are reasonable sometimes but then it depends on whos selling it and what not.some properties are rediculous.

My house 3 bed, 1 bath 1000 sq ft is about 200k now. We're in Portland, OR, but there are so many developments here that it's hard for us to sell it.

My son is a realtor and my DIL works in an office in Davidson County. We lived in a 3BR, 2B home on 1 acre for $90,000 before moving here to the country club. Our neighbors are IT professional, doctors, small business owners, aviation mechanic, supervisor at a paint company, DJ for special events, insurance saleman, auto salesman, teacher at a deaf school, social worker, just a wide variety of wonderful folks.

you could get that here for about $150k but land is pretty high here if you don't have any already, which can range anywhere from $2500 an acre to $10,000 and acre.

Hey thanks for the prices. When my husband retires from Army,WV is one of the states we were talking about retiring to.

youre welcome vee but i have to tell you if you get into the charleston, morgantown or clarksburg areas you will pay more as those are the bigger cities but I love wv (moved here from ct 20 years ago) and the people are so friendly(even if they dont know you they will smile and wave and say hello)I live in whats called braxton county and the schools are good, hardly any crime(just a once in a while burglary) no drive bys no carjackings, etc and the clean air is great.although the cost of living is lower here so if you plan on working youd have to commute to the bigger cities. but my town has less than 1000 people. if you have any questions just feel free to ask.
