Smooth walls are so much easier to clean. I think it's easier for them to do textured and probably why he said that it outdated.

LOL! Clean walls? I got better things to do. Why my hubby has a paint sprayer. Do ya'll really clean your walls???? Now I am getting a complex! LMAO!

Although I did come home one day after we got our Rainbow vac a couple years ago and hubby was LITERALLY vacumning the walls. I was like WTH are you doing? Only my hubby would watch the frickin how to video and learn this could be done. He decided he liked painting better also. So I guess thats the only time our walls have been cleaned cept a new coat of paint.

Our computer room walls are textured but the rest of the walls are smooth. The ceiling is textured throughout the house.

I have a 70+ year old house and it has textured plaster walls. I would give anything for drywall and NO texture. It is such a pain to paint these walls, they suck up 10 times more paint even after they have been primed.

What do you plan to do with them? Hang pictures, etc? I would think it would be hard to have pics & shelves.

My SS has walls that look like frosting they are textured so much. Not to my liking. I like smooth walls but the faux texture is nice IMO.

You can go to www.hgtv.com to get some ideas on keeping them clean but I think highly textured walls will get chips in the paint so keep some of it on hand for the touch ups

I like walls that are slightly textured.

I made a boo-boo once (tried to go for that doug wilson plaster look) and plastered a wall sooo badly... too thick in some areas and was just so ugly

I have smooth walls , I like texture and smooth both. I paint my own home and everyone elses it seem, lol and trust me it is harder to paint texture. I also love color , not plain white walls. Burgandy and gold texture is beautiful if you like color. I also love to decorate country /primitive so I use borders also.

I have both and yes I do clean my walls every spring. We run wood in the winter in the downstairs so we clean our walls every spring. Textured is a pain to clean.
