I am so proud of my 13 yr old daughter

She is the typical 13 yr old girl...moody, cranky & knows it all.....LOL!

Anyway we got her report card in the mail & she got all A's & B's plus she is now helping around the house without complaining about it first. Which is a miracle......

I'm just so proud of the young lady she is turning into.

I know the teenage yrs will not last forever but, I have one more daughter to get through.

I think everyone will admit & can relate to that when their kids were teen they weren't the easiest to get along with. Admitting it & working on it only makes the relationship better.

I guess I just got lucky.

the eldest is now 21 and in the US Navy serving our country. Never had any of the symptoms you described.

the middle is now 20 and working on her Masters degree (she started college at age 15). Never had any problems like described with her either.

the baby is now 17 and working on her Associates degree (she also started college at age 15). Don't have any problems like you have described either.

I would venture out and say that it's all in how they are raised and the type of education they receive -- mine were homeschooled. There is no way I would subject them to public schools.

edited to add: we have a fantastic relationship.

You're lucky my sisters told me they felt like aliens came and took their kids and left someone else behind. They said they turned from sweet, respectful kids to smart mouths almost overnight. One sister said her son acted like he was possessed he got so smart alec when he turned thirteen and fourteen.

Yup, I can relate & it has nothing to do with sending them to public school either.

I know my son was no angel growing up. I don't think I have ever heard that from any parent. Of course now he is an adult and has turned out alright. I say good job to the parents who's kids were never moody, cranky & knows it all.
handle a stressful situation like a dog If you can't eat it or hump it. Piss on it and walk away.
