Ok, given that I didn't put into the OP about the economy...

I would like to twist this around and ask (money being no object), do you feel that for "fast food -- mcd's, wendy's, tacobell, etc" is expensive at $15 for a family of 3?

what about "faster food -- chinese take out, long john silvers, boston market, etc" for the same $15 and family of 3?

and on the higher end "sit down and be waited on" type places ...if the economy were no object.... $20 a plate... good value or no, still on the high side?
2 days from now, tomorrow will be yesterday.

When we go out we tend to go to family owned small resturants. We ususally get a few appetizers so when the mail course comes we only eat a little & take it home for left overs.

At these small resturants we usually spend around $75 for a family of 4.

I dont think $15 is bad at all for a family of 3 for fast food. $20.00 for a "good" meal is not bad either. Good as in steak! I love me some steak!

With 6 of us, even McDonalds can be a bit expensive. It usually costs us around $30 at McDonalds. PizzaHut is usually around $45. Denny's will run between $60 and $75.....depends on whether everyone gets dessert or not. We don't eat out as often as we used to, it costs too much.

There are 3 in our family. If we got to Olive Garden or Applebee's it usually comes out to around $60 because DH drinks a couple beer's and I usually have a mixed drink.

Hubby and I went to Chilis a few nights ago and it was 50, we had a drink each (that was 13!) and a $10 appetizer to split. Luckily we had a $25 GC to get it half price.

It costs us $30-$35 for our family eating fast food or other resturants. Now if we were to go to Applebees, Chilis, or other place like that we'd be paying out much more. We are a family of 5 that includes two growing boys.

When my family does go out to eat, which is very rarely, if we eat out fast food it's usually about $20. If we eat out at a nicer place it runs between $50-$60. There are 5 of us and I have a teenage boy who eats his weight in food every day LOL
