Is using your ssi number online safe?

I was looking through the "referals" section. I'd love to get into some of the sites that pay out. But they require your social security number. Is this a safe thing to do? I feel fairly safe using any referrals from bbf, but it still makes me nervous.

I wouldn't take the risk unless I knew that it was a reputable company I was releasing info to, and I expected to earn the minimum that I had to report to the IRS.

I only use mine at the unemployment website when I file each week. Otherwise nowhere else.

NO. Don't do it... (Dot gets SSI regularly)

SS tells me "It is never safe to give SS number online or any place you feel it will be abused."
