I always say I'll grab a "cart" or ask the kids to get one. If I just need one or two items then I'll use a "basket".

Peoria isn't that little. I used to live in Glendale, just next door.

Grew up in Cali, always been a cart for me.

Same here - shopping cart or carriage. Baskets are the small plastic things you need to carry. I have only heard anyone use sack in reference to bed time - as in "Time to hit the sack".

I know some people call them strollers.Around here they are carriages.

I learned it as strollers are the things that toddlers can only sit in. Carriages are the ones that fully recline & you would an infant in. . Then again, that was before all of these convertable strollers with the detachable car seat became big.

I don't know anyone who calls it soda. Anyone I know calls it either tonic or coke.
The other questions:counter, cabinets,I never say groceries or even grocery store. It is food shopping and food store.
In SE Mass, I have never (even when I used to waitress) heard anyone call it tonic. Just soda or brand name (Coke is Coke, Pepsi is Pepsi, etc)

Kitchen's have counters & cabinets that hang on the wall. A cupboard was a separate piece of "furniture" (like a microwave cart) used to store things in.

I use both buggy and cart. Still got a little yankee left in me, but I am saying buggy more often.

Up in the north, we call them buggies, and a Coke is a Coke. LOL

Guess I'll need to learn the slang if ever I decide to visit the south.
