Oh what a good mom am I...
My kids' last day of school is tomorrow. Holli will get extra credit in a key class if she brings a food to share with the class that is a family tradition. Since neither of us come from traditional families we pretty much make our own. One thing I always make, whether someone is sad or its a holiday, is my yummy fudge brownies.
Now, I get off work at midnight. And do I have the stuff at home to make them? Of course not. So I get off work, run to Walmart and rush home to make brownies. Here it is, almost 2am, and I'm just taking them out of the oven. What makes me especially "mom of the year" is the fact that Mike has to be to work at 7am tomorrow, so I have to get up at 6:45 and get the brownies cut and onto a dish, get the kids up for school and out the door. And I'm not one to be able to fall back asleep once I'm up.
My kid better appreciate me!

Very cool. My DD just did the same 'ancestor' presentation on Tuesday. She wore the traditional clothes, hairstyles and brought a food also.
