Gift ideas...
Wanted to give dd's teachers a gift on her last day of school...May 30th.
Anyone have any good ideas that are reasonable in price?
I was thinking either a journal..I make fabric covered journals....so I could choose an appropriate themed fabric.
Or I also make homemade blueberry jam??
Any thoughts or ideas, time is running out! TIA

both my parents are teachers so I know that nick nacks are out of the question for them usually. LOL They get so much over the years.
Both of those ideas are nice. They are personal and not something they will get a lot of.
Gift cards are always nice also. I have done them or movie rental places also.
Moms of boys work from son up to son down and then they go on line to escape

We've done homemade/handmade things for the teachers that they can use or sometimes we do the giftcard to a local store, sometimes to the local teacher's store

I agree w/ the gift card suggestion, I know it's not real personal, but it's something that they can usually use. For instance, I don't write in a journal and ppl have gotten me some and now I have these journals just hanging around... I would have much rather gotten something I could definitely use. And the jam sounds yummy, but I'd make sure it was a flavor that she/he would eat.
mmmm.. what about a chocolate gift basket? omg now that is something I'd like

If you live by one of the dollar tree stores you could some school supplies and put them in a little basket type thing. My aunt is a teacher and I know that a lot of stuff for her room comes from her own pocket. I am sure the teacher will love anything you give!

My husband is a teacher. He loves anything he gets, no matter how simple. Matter of fact, he really feels bad when the kids bring and expensive gift. He just feels like it makes other kids feel bad. So most teachers really love the homemade ones or inexpensive ones the most. Here are some suggestions of the great things he has got ( the less expensive ones. Usually those are the ones that have the most thought to them):
Just a nice ink pen (teachers use lots of pens), anything from the dollar store, homemade cookies or treats, A nice card with a special note, hats,,. My husband loves fishing and the kids know it. So they can get hime cheap fishing gear. Do ya know what the teachers hobbies are. Picture frames are nice. Stationary or notepads. He gets tons of coffee mugs and store bought candy. If it is a female, pick a pretty bouqet of flowers from the yard, put in in a vase from the dollar store with a card. She will love it. The hand held games are nice too ( like yahtzee, sudokou, poker, etc.) Hope that helped

I don't think many of the kids will bring gifts and I don't want the kids to feel bad. So I am just going to bring the gifts after the other kids have left. Won't be anything expensive, just a little something to show our appreciation.

In a large sealable baggie combine one box of chocolate cake mix and one box of chocolate pudding mix.
DIRECTIONS:
When needed – take 1/2 cup of the mix and put it in a large coffee mug. Mix with 1 Tbsp of water, 1 Tbsp of oil and one egg.Microwave on high for 60 seconds and enjoy your chocolate fix!

Teachers ranked thank-you cards from parents as their favorite holiday teacher gift idea, and edible treats as their least favorite. Other gifts from the heart, such as an autographed picture of the class, a picture drawn by a student, or a small photo album with note cards from children, were also mentioned as teacher favorites. “Truly the best gift a teacher can receive is a genuine expression of gratitude for their work, impact, or influence on a student or a class,” said Kathy, a high school teacher in Illinois.
My kindergarten teacher once said that if she received another Christmas ornament, she would have to get a fourth tree. Gift certificates to stores like Barnes & Noble, Office Depot, or Starbucks may not be the most creative gifts, but they are useful and practical,” said Angela, a high school teacher in Illinois. Other gift certificate ideas include gift certificates to local restaurants, gas stations, malls, or teacher stores.

I love the idea of a homemade journal, maybe with a somewhat matching pen.
