If it's a forever stamp you don't need extra postage on it, but if it says .41 on it, then you do. Hope this helps.

Maybe the sign said something about the forever stamps now being .42 instead of .41? Just an idea.

My stamp has 41 marked on it, so I called dh and he is working in the neighborhood today. I told him when he come home for lunch ( I love it when he can come home in the middle of the day) to bring some 1 cent stamps. He asked why and when I told him he said he had dropped some bills in the post office with the old stamps on them. Now he is going to try to get the post office workers to retreive them so he can put correct postage on them.

Sure is a hassle, wonder why they didn't give more warning.

I think they are always good
I think if you bought a thousand of them you could use them forever without adding anything to it
but if you bought more forever stamps you would have to pay the higher price.

That's exactly right. I always buy stamps by the roll, went in to get some like 2 weeks b4 the change. My postmaster gave me a heads up and suggested I buy the forever stamps at the then rate of .41. Since they didn't have rolls, I bought 5 books so Im good for quite a while (at the old price)

I think I read that every May the stamps will go up 1 penny.

    Did anyone else read that?

Yes Adra, that is true. I talked to my postmaster and she said that every May, the stamps will be going up a penny. If you purchased the Forever stamp before Mother's Day for 41 cents, they will be good Forever. I bought almost a hundred dollars worth of the things.
