even though my man is a PITA at times Idont think I could share him with another woman . and the reason those polygamists have more than one wife and all those kids is because they think if they be "fruitful and multiply" they will get an "automatic pass" into heaven and god forbid how can those women have so many kids? 2 for me is more than enough. I wouldnt do it thats for sure. I also wouldnt want my child to marry someone who might be related like some of those in those religions do.and how do they afford all those kids? besides the ones that rip off the government? imagine having all women in the house having aunt flow for a visit at the same time? that would be hell to me no thank you lol

I would never and I really don't think it is right. I have enough problems with the one husband and 3 kids I have don't need NO MORE!
I speak my mind because it hurts to bite my tongue!

Polygamy is only benificial to the men in most cases. If you could actually find a TRUE polygamist group where women were not forced into marriage, there was no underage marriage and certianly no incest, then you would still see that only the men have the control. They are able to put one wife above the others and the women are not allowed to have more than one husband. When you take sex out of the equation, along with the above mentioned issues, polygamy would be awesome because things would probably be much easier with all the mothers sharing responsibilty of all the children. I suppose then you have to ask WHY someone would want to have THAT many children and it all boils down to a religious belief. Therefore, my personal opinion is this:
I don't mind consentual adult polygamy, and see no reason why it is wrong as a principal but I have yet to see any polygamist group that ever got it right

To each his own, but for me it would not work.
But, there are societies where the woman marries more than one spouse, which I find interesting. The difference between polyandry and the polygamy is that the polyandry is strictly based on economics whereas polygamy is based on religion in most cases.
Here is a story about several brothers taking a wife.

Polyandry
Polyandry is a practice where a woman is married to more than one man at the same time. It is also known as wife sharing. Fraternal polyandry was traditionally practiced among nomadic Tibetans in Nepal and parts of China, in which two or more brothers share the same wife, with her having equal sexual access to them. Polyandry is believed to be more likely in societies with scarce environmental resources, as it is believed to limit human population growth and enhance child survival. A woman can only have so many children in her lifetime, no matter how many husbands she has. On the other hand, a child with many "fathers", all of whom provide resources, is more likely to survive. (In contrast, the number of children would be increased if polygyny were practiced, and a man had more than one wife. These wives could be simultaneously pregnant).[2] It is a rare form of marriage that exists not only among poor families, but also within the elite.[3]

Ignorance is bliss but the question is can we afford it?
