None of my business but it don't seem right
This evening dh and I left for church early so we could go by Walmart and pick up our prescriptions. As we walked to the store in the parking lot. my attention was drawn to a young walmart worker, helping a middle age woman with something she had bought. He had the item on a cart and had just put it in her trunk she opened her wallet and handed the worker money. He quickly put it in his pocket said thanks and left.
Isn't it against the store policy to accept a tip.
Yes I know it was not any of my business.

I would have never ever accepted money for that if I was the one doing that. It's supposed to be part of my job.. That's wrong in my opinion..

I do believe it is against policy but i'm not sure. I have given a down syndrom boy that works at our winn dixie tips when he rolls my buggy to my truck and he is always greatful.

Depending on what it is. I mean policy is usually to not accept tips.
But I've been know to tip my carry out. Once I did, since I bought some lawn furniture and the poor guy had to make it fit. And at Christmas I tipped my usual carry out at the grocery store. ( He was much older and I know he didn't have much $, he always was happy. Plus he never had his hand out demanding $)

When I worked at Walmart it was against policy to accept money or tips of any kind. I did have one lady who insisted on tipping me and even went so far as to get management involved and management told her that it was against policy but that if she really wanted to, she could give it to the cash office as a donation to the Children's Miracle Network, since that's the charity the store supported.

Usually I can't find anyone to ask a question let alone have someone carry out for me--maybe thats why she tipped him

Jesh, I thought it was awfully nice of her. Who cares about wal*mart policy anyway? Most of the people I know work there HATE IT.
I have a friend who started losing her hair in clumps due to stress from working there - & she's younger than me!

I think if someone wants to tip someone then they should be "allowed" to and the other should be "allowed" to accept it. Tipping is showing appreciation for a job well done. It wasn't meant as wages, just restaurants etc started taking advantage of it. I appreciate anyone who is willing to go above and beyond their "regular" job duties to help me out. If I chose to tip, then its my business, not the store's owners business.
The more you complain, the longer God makes you live.

I personally wouldn't have taken the woman's money, but I don't see anything wrong with it. She tipped because she was showing her appreciation for the help she got and he took it .. big deal.
They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them. Distance and time may separate us but friendship and memories won't.
