At our Wal Mart he would have lost his job. I did take tips once in awhile when I worked there, but I always turned them in to the manager and it went into the CMN fund. I would have rather had my low paying job with a regular paycheck than a few extra bucks once
Now that being said, I think its a really ****ty policy, as are most of the idiotic policies they have in place.

I worked at Walmart for 2 weeks a long time ago. I had a personality conflict with the asst. manager-he lied to me and I had a problem with that and he told me that was my problem and not his and I knew what I could do if I was unhappy about it.
Anyway I am big time into crafts and I once asked if I could have some artificial flowers that had been stepped on and was going in the trash. I was told no becasue it was store policy. So I put them in the trash. It did not make sense to me, If it went in the trash or in my home it was still walmart loss but I followed thier policy. I agreed to do that when I was hired.
Just a little off topic
If there were anywhere else to shop in our little town I would not go to Walmart because of so many stories I have heard about how they treat their employees. I do not buy my groceries there and if at all possible I go to dollar general. Walmart came here about 15 yrs. ago and slowly the other stores closed down . It is sad and now they are going to put in a super walmart and I have heard that they will be lowering food prices . So I expect our bilo, our piggley wiggley, and our IGA, will soon be losing business and then they will close down.
Walmart will be in a position to charge higher prices.

Every store does that. Its probably got something to do with the workers sueing the company for being injured on an item that was given to them, because it was "unsafe" or some fool thing.
Yes, I hear alot of horror stories about Walmart. But ya know what, look at the people who work there, who manage to keep a roof over their heads and food in their kids' mouth BECAUSE they work there.
I for one and may be the only one am grateful for my Walmart in town. There are ALOT of people who work there/and work at the business's inside there.

I agree! I have a husband to carry big things for me but if I didn't and the person who helped me was nice about it I'd give them a tip.

The Walmart here only starts at $6.50 an hour, and I don't care what their policy was, if someone actually got off their @$$ to help me carry out something I would offer them a tip. And if they refused to take it due to policy I would insist.
But then again, I hate Walmart. They make ungawa money, are very demanding in their purchasing practices and pay the least of any big corp. They do offer stock options, but if you don't plan to retire from them its not a lot of good to the every day people.

Speaking as a Wal~Mart employee, it is against store policy to take a tip. The store I work in isn't officially open until Wednesday anyway, so as of now, we have no customers or money. They have preached from day one about taking anything from anyone.

If I chose to tip, then its my business, not the store's owners business.
ITA....
I personally would be offended if they didn't accept when I offered.

I would hate to see someone lose their job just because they were offered a tip and accepted it. I have never tipped anyone at walmart or the grocery store, but now I know not to even offer, knowing it could cost someone their job. And I would never be offended if anyone declined my money...hahahaha. Oh and Adra I had to laugh when I read piggley wiggley..it just sounds so funny for a store name..lol
