we got ours on friday and every penny went towards bills.... i WISH i had $2100 to splurge on something i would really like, i havent had that luxury for YEARS!!

We were expecting the $2100 (Kevin, myself and he claimed his two kids and my son) but we were told that we we would only be getting $1500. I don't work.

we we are getting 300 less than we thought we would BUT I have to honestly say I will NOT complain because this is something they didn't even have to do for us AND I feel we are getting less because we already got free money when we got some (although very little) earned income credit.......at least I think we got that it might have been that other child credit thing.
Mom I miss you already

This is us too. 2 adults 3 kids $1500.
And about the age 17 being the cut off, it is because the cut off for Child Tax Credit is 17 yrs old. (At least that is how I understood it)

You would think it'd be 18 years old before they cut off our kids. At least they'd be adults then.

Yes!!! Finally, the IRS site is showing what our family will get. Here is what it said as of this morning:
Your total Stimulus payment was calculated as $1,500.00 and consists of the following:
Basic Amount: $1,200.00.
Qualifying Child Amount: $300.00 (Based on 1 qualifying children).
Your payment of $1,500.00 is scheduled to be deposited to your bank on May 9, 2008. If you do not receive the credit by May 14, 2008, please contact us again. We are unable to take any action until then.
You guys had me nervous that we might just get $900 because I don't work outside the home. Of course, I would be grateful for any amount but, like many here, we could sure use that $600 extra.
