    Anyone watching Dr. Phil today?

    I cannot understand these hoarders.
This woman has a total of 7 refridgerators and freezers
several coolers full of rotten or rotting food. She keeps
frozen foods in her van in the cold weather because she
has no room in the house for it. I dont understand why
she just has to keep buying the food. Also, 2 of her kids
share the couch as a bed because thier rooms are stuffed
with "stuff"...OMG it just keeps getting worse....ACK!

That would drive me crazy. It's nice to have extra food but that sounds like a bit much. LOL

It's a mental disorder. They can be helped with meds and behavior modification. I feel sorry for the kids.

When I lived in an apartment I went by a woman when she was taking in "stuff" into her apartment. I asked if I could help her but she said no. I could understand why. When I glanced into her apartment she had so much in there even the door was half blocked.

I would think the management would ask her to move. They did need to go in to change the furnace filter. Seems like she would be a fire trap for the rest of the building. They did have a good sprinkler system so maybe that would save most of the people but she could be trapped. The sprinklers never went off but if it had all our things would have been soaked.

I don't know anyone who's been like that but I do know a lady who was obsessed with having enough ketchup on hand...she must've had like 100 bottles of it, even though she didn't eat it....I never understood and she couldn't explain to me why she did that...just said it made her feel safe and secure...having ketchup = safety and security? Move over Brinks, here comes Heinz.

I used to hear of people with mental illness hoarding cats but now it seems like there are all types of hoarders.

I know a lady that is kind of like that. She has 3 freezer packed with food. But they go buy new to cook with. RARELY ever use whats in it. plus you can't hardly walk through their house. You cannot see their counters or table.
We tried to clean for her. And it was back to the same in a week.
On room its 4 ft tall with stuff piled.

My mom has bottles of A1 with a price sticker of $1.79. I told her to toss it as it is obviously old. She insists she bought it just before moving in with us a year ago. Bull huey. When was the last time goods from the grocery store had a price sticker or the last time A1 was priced at $1.79 even on sale. I think her problem stems from living thru the depression and having sisters who always took her stuff and parents who made her give her stuff away. It drives me nuts.
