Hypnosis
I may have mentioned this before but I have fibromyalgia.. I know someone else here has it so I know it's been discussed before..
I have been thinking about trying hypnosis to see if I can at least be able to function enough to eventually get a job and be normal. I am tired of feeling like a burden to the dh because I know I could help a lot more if I wasn't in so much pain and not having so many anxiety attacks over nothing.
He's a great guy. He totally gets my problems and doesn't expect me to work at all.. He also feels like he has to take care of me b/c I took care of him when he was sick for 9 months with mrsa fibro and all. I just want my life back.
Anyway I digress.
Has anyone been thru hypnosis for anything and if so how did it turn out?.. Anyone know anyone who went thru it?

I was at church and a girl in the class was saying that this her MIL was a heavy smoker and went through hypnosis and and was immediately down to 1 or 1/2 a ciggaret a day. That was only a fews days later so I don't know if it lasting or what. I don't know her (I was visiting back in MO) so sorry I don't have any extended follow up.
Moms of boys work from son up to son down and then they go on line to escape

My mother went thru it for smoking as well and she cut down for a while, like 5 months, and now she is back to her old smoking habits..
I quit smoking cold turkey after 15 years of smoking. I have smoked 1 cig in 5 one half years and one cigarello . So I broke that on my own.
Thanks for your help though

I was hypnotized 3 times at age 14 for a tongue thrust before I got my braces removed. I was pushing with my tongue against my front teeth when I swallowed. I quit doing it for several years but I do it now, years later. One thing the dentist told me though was that I could never be hypnotized again. He did this so that us kids wouldn't start playing around doing it. Well anytime the word hypnotize comes up, I immediately think, "I can't be hypnotized".
I also have fibromyalgia. I looked at a book about fibromyalgia and discovered that the writer of the book lives here in my city, with his office not far from here. I read his book, made an appointment with him, started taking his vitamins and I can honestly say, I improved by 65%. I also have a pain pill, prescribed by my rheumatologist, I take every morning when I get up and that helps me get up to get moving.
With the information I learned in the book and with the pain pill I am so much better. I still tire easily and have spells of having sore skin but I am much better than I have ever been since I have had fibromyalgia. Private message me if you want more information.

I don't have it but I have heard a lot of success stories with fibromyalgia...what I have also heard a lot of success with is affirmations (which is self hypnosis, although all hypnosis is self-hypnosis technically)...anyway, I recommend an amazing book called "You Can Heal Your Life" by Louise Hay. It sounds so simple, but you would be amazed at how powerful it actually is.
