Does anyone here pay the membership fee? I have many people that have signed my guest book but you have to be a "member" that pays to see anything that is left.

From what I have heard through the grapevine, those emails you get stating you had someone add you to thier guestbook is just a ploy to get you to join.

i got that and continue to get them so one time I paid for 3 months and not one person I went to school or knew signed mine and as far as I know you can only look at your own profile if you pay for a subscription because I tried to look at my sisters for her and it wouldnt show anything I could be wrong but I know it didnt work for me so chances are whoever signed your guestbook may not be anyone you know and could be someone that thinks they know you but actually could be someone with the same name as you. Ive had people who did searches on me who werent even in my age range, or went to the schools I went to so anyone can sign it.just so you know

I'm a Gold member at Classmates, since I work with our class database and send out an occasional newsletter with updates. I can see who posts to my guestbook, and check out their profiles. Most of the folks who signed were known to me.

I am a paid member--What happens actually is that under profile preferences, you can have yourself automatically "sign" a guest book just by visiting it (so actually unknowingly so) or you can turn that option off. So it is possible that people are just going through and curious but not purposefully trying to sign your guest book (this has happened to me).

btw, all members, makes sure that under your account preferences you change your "renewal" options to NOT be automatic...when you sign up, it signs you up to automatically renew (in the fine print)...and once it renews, you can't cancel and get your money back. So fyi. I would say classmates.com membership is 100% not worth it (I'm not renewing) because you can find almost everyone on facebook and myspace pretty easily.
