i just figure if we have our health, able to get out of bed daily and have our families then that is the biggest gift anyone could have

I love the hand made things I get and can't hardly bring myself to use them. Like the crocheted throw my aunt made or the embroidered pillow cases. I do eventually use them but not after putting them away in my trunk for a long time. My aunts may think I didn't like the things but then they didn't come over that often. And now that they are gone the gifts mean even more.
I got a bad gift once though from my brother and family. The ugliest looking owl pot. Looked like something they found in the trash. LOL I did put it on my shelf for a long time but finally got rid of it.
AND my mother got a Chia Pet one year. She was in her 80s by then and it scared her. LOL I had to out it up on the refrigerator way back so she coudn't see it. I see they are around AGAIN this year. Will they never go away? But this year I see they have goofy faces so they may look funny. Some just look weird and scary. I never told my brother who gave it to her that it scared her and that is why it was on the frig so he may not have liked it but I didn't know what else to do. LOL
