The kids didn't pay attention to my red hair, it was the adults. Funny huh? Even one little boy in kindergarten had a crush on me. His mother told my mother he liked the little red headed girl in his class. Poor kid, we were standing there when she said it and he about died.

The Charlie Brown comic strip reminded me of that each time I read it. LOL

I moved away from the school he was at in 5th grade I think... then all of a sudden he showed up in High School. He tried the name thing again but for some reason it didn't stick that time, so he dropped it.

That's just one of the names I've been called... I honestly don't remember a lot of them specifically... but I do remember the beat you like a redheaded step child crap and the red on the head like a noodle on a poodle bs. It wasn't funny then and it's not funny now... but ppl still do it.

The only ppl who still call me red now is one uncle and one cousin. They are in a constant state of needing to be better than everyone else so I just let them think they are keeping me down. They're the ones that look like idiots more times than not.
OMG! I never heard that one before!

Most people I know that are red headed have really cool personalities.
My husband has 2 red headed friends. One is the local cop, and we see him often. I love his long red eyelashes. To me it's like he has doe eye's or something. The other one is one of those type people that is always up to something amusing. He asked me once if I knew why he had freckles....I said no...he said because he came from a long line of Indians...they where called the wine dot tribe. I guess everyone that I've ever known that was red headed had personalities that really stood out so much so that you never forget them.

I have blond hair and while in jr high one kid was making fun of me b/c you couldn't see my eyebrows/lashes b/c they were so light I just looked at him like he was a moron and he never said anything about it again. It's actually comical that he made fun of me for that. I'm also short, but I don't remember being called shorty or blondie or anything of that nature outside of my family *shakes head* thankfully they don't call me those now, prob b/c I have some nice choice things to say to them when they do

URG.. but you know what I HATE the most... those stupid dumb blond jokes. Apparently since I'm blond I must like to hear them b/c ppl seem to want to tell me them. Whatever... quite honestly, most blonds are bottle blonds, not natural (I tell them that and it shuts some of them up)
If you don't want dumb answers, don't ask dumb questions

Im so sorry to hear that they had to drag your mom into thier childish game. This brought back some memories for me.There was this little blonde haired girl who went to the private school with me.Well she had 4 sisters all blonde just like thier mom.I remember one time when she asked me how old my mom was.My mom was 10 years older then hers and she was like man your mom is old. That stuck into my head for years.I swore that I would have my kids young just so they wouldnt get picked on.Well things didnt work out that way.Im 30 y/o and still dont have any kids.I would love to see her mom now just to see what she looks like.My mom will be 58 in Jan and doesnt have a wrinkle on her face.I think she looks damn good for her age.I hope I have her skin when I get her age.
In the same private school there was this boy who made fun of me because my mom drove a 50something?? Rambler(not sure if that is right)and my dad drove a Nova.I was so embarrassed of those cars. The funny thing is when I got to be a teenager I cant tell you how many guys I dated who drove a Nova or how many who would have killed for one.
I never had name brand clothes but I was glad I had some.I knew we didnt have a lot of money when I was growing up but my bother and I never went without. My dad would get a bonus from work every christmas and I really think my parents spent all that money on us.
I have the best parents in the world who would do anything for us.I thank God everyday that I have such great parents.

I started to develop early had little pointy boobs when i was nine and the girls picked on me. Used to accuse me of stuffing my dress with tp????? Well how the heck you are supposed to do that without something to hold it there is beyond me. Later on in Jr high some of them said they wished they had big boobs like mine.....well all they are is a pain in the back and shoulder....lol.....It would be nice if a guy looked at me first as a person instead of my boobs first. Which is a part of the reason i married my dh he wasn't all over me with those sweaty hands guys have....ugh....he let me choose how fast things progressed. I am now a DDD cup and it is more a pain in the knees now and it is hard to find a bra that fits right....lol
Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves for they shall never cease to be amused.

As a black kid who spoke proper english, wore saddle oxfords and had white friends. . .

    I was called "oreo".

Black on the outside, white inside.

It hurt me a lot then but I have let it go! I am a unique individual and I am proud of that there is nothing typical about me. . .never has been.

I was called bones because I was always so skinny and had big feet that were very boney. Still do but it doesn't matter anymore.

Been called a grumpy old man ever since I can remember but then I can only remember the past two minutes so I doesn't matter to me what people called/call me. I am a gumpy old fart.
