Question Cooks 5 qt. stand mixer from JCPenny

Does anyone have one of these? For the price and the wattage it seems like a really great deal. Here's the link to it: Cooks Stand Mixer

I want a stand mixer as I do a lot of baking, I'm just unsure if this would be a good buy or not. I'd love to have a KitchenAid, but those are very expensive and if you look at their wattage it's like 325 for the Artisan and the Pro is like 525... so still lacking and that one is $499 I'm wondering if this accepts the KitchenAid attachments as I haven't seen any for it.

I'd greatly appreciate any opinions you all have on it. I think I'm going to go check it out in the next few days as I need to find out what kind of motor it has, it'd be nice if the site had a little more description.

If you can hold off, Amazon usually has really good deals on the KitchenAid and I'd go with a good brand rather than one from Penney's that may break on ya. I've had my KitchenAid for over 5 years and use it a lot and I lovvvvve it!

Amazon had the 250 watt one for $99 recently and the 325 watt one for $150 I think it was...

I have had my KitchenAid for 7 years and LOVE it .. I got it at Sears and Paid $160 for it .. it's the KitchenAid Ultra Power .. when I got it it was marked on sale for $160 .. when I got to the register it rang up @ $199 I believe and I told the lady that the sales tag said it was $160. She called a manager and apparently a salesperson put the sign by the wrong mixers, but they still gave me the mixer for that price.

You can find them on sale though you just have to look and they are well worth the investment .. plus they have a ten year warranty!

thanks ladies, I've been keeping my eye on the kitchenaids but I don't know how much longer I can hold out. This would come in very helpful for all that holiday baking.

I have the KitchenAid Ultra Power stand mixer and love it. Unless you are going to be doing something with really heavy batter or dough you could use a hand mixer. I use my KitchenAid Ultra Power 5 hand mixer to mix all of my cookies and cakes. I only use the stand one for breads and heavy doughs. I think the mixer you are looking at looks nice. If you can't find a KitchenAid at a comparable price and you really want it then I'd go ahead and get it.

EVERY JC PENNY thing I have bought from undies to electronics to most anything JC PENNY has been orth it, and odd I say that..I always pick JC as the last place..dunno why..anyways, I would try to hold out as well as some posters, but you may get a better deal for the price without the shipping as well..I love AMAZON but have had some issues there as well, so it hard to say if you could have gotten same/better deal without the wait and the ship.
What other stores do you have around you?
PM, and I will see what I think.
I have a kitchen aid, it is good, but I also have an OLD Hamilton Beach which is much better...so there you are!

At last....my love has come around..

thanks, is the link www.epinions.com ? Unfortunately I'm guessing this mixer is pretty new (or just not popular) as I cannot find one single review on it. I'd love to get a kitchenAid but from what I've seen the price and wattage on the Cooks is awesome compared to what KA has to offer, so I'm really really torn. I know many ppl who love their KA and they've been around forever!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions/opinions, I greatly appreciate them

I was reading the reviews on KitchenAids not that long ago somewhere and a lot of ppl were really disappointed w/ the fact that if you make really thick bread doughs a lot the motor wears out pretty quick. I don't know, I know a lot of ppl swear by them, too. My Nana has one she's had for 20 years and hers seems to be in much better shape than anyone I've seen before.

I looked at several different sites and couldn't findany reviews either. Good luck!

I got a KitchenAid Artisan mixer for Christmas on Amazon. I paid about $200 and then got a $30 rebate. So I haven't actually tried it yet.
