woohoo congrats on quiting, I am still working on my quit day yet

9 months for me tomorrow and I did it cold turkey .. smoked for a long time too .. when you put your mind to it, anything is possible!

Nobody mentioned this yet but my husband said it makes a lot of difference to take food with it... a lot easier on the stomach.

My stepdad said everything tastes different after he quit. He was a die hard pepsi man and after he quit smoking he couldn't stand it. Now he's a Coke man.


I checked with my insurance and my copay will only be $25!! I'm so excited.

My mom wants to try it really badly. She's smoked for almost 40 years and has done pretty well cutting down from 2 packs a day to less than one, but she just can't seem to stop on her own. She's tried just about everything BUT Chantix. Her DR wrote her a script, but her insurance won't cover any of it....

I did too basically with the help of a great book. I know you guys have heard me praising this book before but I NEVER thought I would quit my 2 pack a day habit for 30 years but I did! The book is called Easy Way to Stop Smoking by Allen Carr and its at Amazon for only 10 bucks and free shipping. What have you got to lose but a couple hours of reading! Its works, read the reviews at least!!!!!!!!!

Here is the thing, smoking hurts.
I was convinced I could do this alone, but I could NOT.
But the day came, I was ready.
Chantix isn't going to much unless YOU do the work.

It hurts,quitting smoking is compared to quitting Herion, want an idea, watch the "Basketball Diaries', Leonardo Di Caprio is in it, good flick, but you can see when he has a problem, ( I don't want to blow it for those that never saw it)
I felt like this, in PAIN, nicotine is addictive stuff here, it hurts to STOP.
No sugar coating, you have to be up to it.
My jaw ached, my system went catty whoompas, I couldn't remember stuff, I would lose my keys, I put stuff in my mouth I would never eat..ever...I quit running I got angry I picked fights, I have done it all..
Start thinking of what your body might do if you give this a shot, but remember everyone is different, I smoked since I was like 15 years old..sheesh!
But I will NOT die for it.
I will not spend another nickle for it.
I would for beer, however.

I wouldn't take this drug if someone gave it to me free. I am very glad it worked for you, though. There have been several cases of unusual violence associated w/ this drug mixed w/ alcohol (A well known local musician was killed cause of his violent outbreak) and the alcohol warning is buried so deep that most ppl don't even know it is there.

Anyway, you ladies that have a drink a day (or even less), consider this and discuss it w/ your doctor before starting it! It does work, I know it does... but it has strong and weird side effects.

I read that book! I swear it is a miracle thing, it must brainwash you because it was sooo easy and i had literally made myself sick just THINKING about quitting before. Go to Amazon and at least read the reviews, its awesome.
