Stuck my foot in my mouth....again...and oh yeah, now my son got his very first tattoo....LOL
OK, you guys have got to help me figure out how to get out of this mess I've gotten myself into.
My son has been wanting a tattoo for a very long time, and so far my mother power kept him from it. You know how that's my duty and all to make his life a living hell.....well anyway I was doing a good job until today and he just decided he was getting a tattoo regardless of what I said.....so being the good mom, I just had to give one last try to put a stop to this. So I grasped for straws and told him "Alright if you get a tattoo, then I'm getting one!!"....I was thinking to myself (HA! TAKE THAT!) well he called my bluff......he said what kind are you going to get? I said I'll get a yorkie chasing butterflies on the back of my neck....so everyone can see your momma has a tattoo!.....I just knew that would throw him for a loop.....but it didn't.....he said to me..."I'll find out how much it cost when I get mine tonight and come back with you to get yours"........
So regardless to say, my son now has a beautiful black cross on his bicep with JESUS wrote into the center of it.
OK....he called my bluff....I know.....but I really really don't want to go into a tattoo parlor....I would feel silly at my age going into a tattoo parlor, they would probably laugh at me.....but he now expects me to get it...and he will never let me live it down if I don't get one now...He even made me show him a pic of the one I'm suppose to get...so help me try to figure a way out of this??? LOL

Well... you can't donate blood or be an organ donor for at least two years ... what if he suddenly needs a kidney ?? Just too risky ! As a mom, you have to look at the "bigger picture" and forgo the tat.
( does that help ? )
Laissez les bon temps rouler! Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.** a 4 day work week & sex slaves ~ I say Tyt for PRESIDENT! Not to be taken internally, literally or seriously ....Suki ebaynni IS THAT BETTER ?

Hey that's a good suggestion!! I honestly didn't know that.
That's very interesting, do you know why that is?

You can't donate blood for 1 year after getting a tattoo or piercing.
Save a life. Adopt a homeless pet from a shelter or rescue group.

I think i'd just be honest with him and tell him what you were trying to do. bet he'll think its funny as heck
and myself, I'd be proud of the tatt he got instead of all the other options out there.

I let my son get his first tat when he turned 15, luckily my boyfriend at the time was a tat artist, so he did it for him. To me its art, just that it will be with you forever. I know older ladies like in the 50's and 60's age that have gotten them, and they are proud of it.

Being a big fan of tats I say - go for it! You need to keep your Mom-Rep in tact too. Just grow your hair so nobody sees it if you don't want them to.
If you really don't want it - dig up some tat horror stories and pretend you are afraid of getting one.

I'd just get the tatt. Sounds like it would be pretty. It doesn't hurt much and I'm 43 and got my latest one a couple years ago. No one is going to laugh at you.

I think I would tell him the truth
I got mine when I was 19 and 20 and boy do I wish I could afford to have them removed. They are tasteful and tastefully done but just something I dont want on me now that I am older and have children
Mom I miss you already

I certainly wouldn't let something like pride make me get a tattoo that I'd have forever. Tell him the truth if you don't want it.
