Organized!! What's that? I make a list of things to do and then loose the list so that's the end of my organization.

To keep your desk or countertop cleaner, I open the daily mail over the trash can. That way junk mail goes directly to it's home and not on the counter. Bills go on the desk in a file box and samples go where they belong (in the bathroom or pantry)

What's really helped me a lot is freecycle and craigslist. I can part with things knowing they will be appreciated....unfortunately I have also picked up a few things on them as well (re-adding to my 'clutter').

I make Weekly Trips to goodwill to unload stuff.

I do have a For sale list and a box of Ebay/yard sale stuff going at all times ....
However that is in an organized tote and i don't hang onto Anything in there long - If it sells - great ! if not it goes to Goodwill.I don't even like to wait to deal with Freecycle.

Organized? What's that? I try to convice myself that I'm getting something accomplished, when I get rid of some of my junk. But then I turn around and bring more in. I really need to release and let go of all my junk. As I get older I seem to have a harder time. I know at my age I should really get rid of more because one day ....I Am Going To Die. I know my husband. He will not be the one to go though this crap. He will call in my family to help him and that terrifies me. They have no idea what is lurking behind closed doors. Every closet is crammed, the basement, the attic and the garage.
I Thank God for this forum. My Friends and family just do not get it.

LOL .............. My husband can't stand the way I organize things. If something sits around for more than a week and it hasn't been used, its in the trash! He now knows to keep his things picked up or he'll lose them.

I to hate Stuff, so if I bring something in, something has to go out.
My Mother will throw NOTHING away. I had a hard time getting away from "Better keep that, you never know, when you might need it"
If we don't use it, we don't need it.

If it is clothes I haven't worn in a year then I donate them to Goodwill if they are in great condition. Otherwise I toss them.
Other things such as Holiday decorations, if I hadn't used them in the past season or 2 I just toss them out. I just had way too much of that stuff. Everything else is in my attic in plastic totes that I marked in black sharpie what is in each one. That makes it so much easier. When I need my Christmas tree decorations I just need to go to the section when Christmas decorations are & find the box labeled ornaments & VOLIA!!! I am done!
I do tend to clean out my kitchen cupboards at least once a year & toss out all those extra plastic containers.

I've found the seven fling boogie to be a blessing. I stole it from Fly Lady. I try and get rid of seven things a day. I either pitch them or put them in the Good will bag. It's working pretty well, although I still have faaar too much crap.

When we moved into this new house the end of Feb., Mur trashed lots of my stuff that was in storage. He said it had no value, not a family heirloom, just plan junk. Then the boxes that Heather was trying to help me organize she did the same thing with my stuff I had in boxes for shelves in the garage. I must admit tho that I really didn't have room for all the junk. Just had it for most of my 67 years that it was like throwing part of me away. Now I feel good about pitching junk if I trip over it. LOL
