Do you have pain or discomfort in your quad muscles or hamstrings. When those two muscle groups are out of balance, they move your kneecap out of whack a bit. Or it could be arthritis. Have you had any previous knee injuries?

I have one bad knee from when a dog buldozed into me in the snow and ice. The discomfort comes and goes, but it's terrible when I'm kneeling. I put an ice bag on my knee when it really bothers me.

Are you doing and PT for it or just taking the shots?

Big Hugs for you 1tiredMom! My husband, MIL and I have knee troubles...we are a sight when we are together, our knees hurt and walking....

My knees have bothered me since I was a kid. I was a runner and have pounded the heck out of them for too many years. Now as a middle aged, fluffy woman, my right knee is the worst! There are times I cannot walk up the stairs. I am a big pansy and chicken out when the doctor suggests giving me a shot in the knee. My grandmother would get shots in her knee and it was the only time I saw tears in her eyes....she was a very tough lady but those shots bent her in half. I think you are very brave getting those shots!

My MIL showed me a few exercises she does while sitting for her knees and she is taking some joint relief supplements that seem to work for her. Maybe your doctor has some information about exercises you can do while sitting to help?

Thanks cubsgirls21 & Vini for the info -I started having trouble with both my knees since I was in my 20's . I could just be walking & one knee or the other would give out & I would fall.Figuired I was just clumsy.Yes when I kneel I almost want to say I would rather have a contraction. My home smells like it should be a retirement home or the house of ben-gay. The shots are as bad as the pain in the knees. The other night I was in so much pain I did something so dumb I'm kinda embarrassed to write it -knees were hurting so bad & I was looking for the tube of theragesic, it's a blue tube-not paying any atten tion I grabbed a blue tube & when I squeezed some out & got ready to rub it in. when I looked at it , I couldn't understand why it was so blue instead of white-what happened was I pulled out the tube of Crest Vivid toothpaste and was getting ready to rub it in to my knee I was using

    Re: Knees

Yes to knee pain. Yes to injections. I guess I am just lucky because I have had 2 in my knees and 2 in my shoulders and they didn't hurt. But I am a big chicken and I made both doctors know this. They used lidacaine before they got all the way in. That helps. Also after the knee injections my pain went away for years. The shoulder injections didn't work and I wound up having rotator cuff surgery on it. I have recently dropped 17 lbs so I am now just under 300 YEA! I do have arthritis all over. I have it worse in my feet than my knees though. But we do have steps to go up to bedrooms so I have to go one step at a time like an old person. No I am not old, just fat. LOL

    Re: Knees

Hi I have knee pain and I have had a Tibial Tubercle Transfer if you want to see what it looks like here is the site http://www.wheelessonline.com/ortho/...ar_subluxation I had it done when I was 29 I couldnt walk without pain and it was causing weight gain because I had a hrd tme walking swimming you name it. My knee always gave out on me I did braces PT crortizone shots you name it after seeing an ortho dr and having an MRI done he asked how I had been walking. I said one foot in front of the other It was painful and I have side affects I cant bend my knee all the way anymore I have lympodemia (sp) in that leg and it is sensitive because they had to take out bone and muscle out of the leg. Do i regret it NO I can walk better now I have dropped 60 pds because I can walk almost pain free and this isnt a fulltime fix I will need TNR someday but for now I am enjoying my life back.

I would get an MRI done to see whats going on inside I know I have arthritis and had this other problem dont just take one dr at their word I saw at least 3 and good luck knee pain sucks !!
