Once a cheater, always a cheater?
Can/do cheaters change? Any opinions and/or experiences?

The odds are that they will always be a cheater. People use different excuses as to why they cheat, but in the end, none of the excuses are valid reasons to break a committment.

My personal thoughts..once a cheater always a cheater. Maybe not true for all... BUT I think the majority.

I think cheaters can and do change, just not very many of them want to.

22 years of marriage says yep always a cheat! My ex was abusive also and I totally gave up. I wonder sometimes if it runs in families. I know my ex husbands mom cheated, dad cheated, all his brothers did too!

Re: Once a cheater, always a cheater?
Not that I agree with every single thing that Dr. Phil says, but on his show a few weeks ago, he said something I thought was really profound and true to a lady who's husband had been cheating. He said something to the effect of "the best predictor of his future behavior is what you have been shown from his past behavior."
It is true that a man can stop if he really wants to, but the vast majority end up not changing because so many women put up with it. What incentive do men have to change if they know that their woman will overlook it or put up with it? JMHO.

I think that as long as the 'non cheater' puts up with it, the cheater will keep cheating.
I think there are cheaters out there that will do it once and then never again, and there are those who will keep doing it.
I think that we hear more about the ones that keep cheating more than we do about the ones who just have a one time thing.
