Re: furball?
We have used vaseline on the cats paw when needed.
There are also products you can buy in the pet store for hairballs
that are not too expensive.

Re: furball?
I used to use Petramalt (at Petco, vet, etc.) but one of my cats (long-haired, of course) refused to eat it. So I switched to Vasaline. They have their own container (marked clearly) since typically, when I'm feeding it to one, someone else will stick their tongue in the container! Ew, gross. I have seven cats and ALL of them love the vasaline. It's definitely the cheapest and easiest remedy. I don't put it on their paws though, they just lick it off my fingers. It doesn't get all over the house that way. (They shake their paws and the stuff flies everywhere!)

Re: furball?
I never heard of the vaseline before. May have to try that.
They do sale stuff over the counter for furballs. My cats will eat the treats with the furball medicine in it that you can buy over the counter. But the stuff in the tube I can't get them to eat.

Re: furball?
If you put any kind of oil, on their paws, it also works. Another thing that really works wonders is cod liver oil or fish oil. They love it! I would be afraid to do the vaseline bit. They could choke on it, I would think.

Re: furball?
Vaseline is the answer for that problem. I had to take my yorkie to vet for surgery. She wasn't going to the bathroom afterwards. (NO 2) lol the vet told me to give her little bites of vaseline or buy hairball stuff. The vaseline worked. I thought it would choke her but I just put a little bit on the back of her tongue then gave her a bit of something to eat. cheaper that hairball remedy meds.

Re: furball?
I feed my kitties food made to help furballs. It has more oil in it and they really prefer it over the other kind.
If you are trying to get your kitty to take something sticky put it on their nose. They have to lick it off.

Re: furball?
Vasiline does the trick. Just lure the kitty in the bathroom and try putting it on their paws and close the door. At least it won't get all over the place. Or, I just got some Heartz kitty malt stuff. It tastes like fish (Or so they say!)...

Re: furball?
One of my customers told me the other day that the vet told her to sprinkle some Metamucil on her cats food. She says that it worked.
