I have to know this...
Those new offers out there, GET A $500 Gift card to Old Navy, or food, or Visa Gift card...The ones where you have to sign up for a whole bunch of stuff and complete their offers...HAS ANYONE EVER DONE THIS??? Has anyone ever got one of these gift cards??? I am just very curious to see if anyone has done this....

Me too. I did one for a $50 Home Depot card, you had to fill out all this mess, participate in so many offers, then wait, and wait, and wait. I kept going back to check my status. It said to wait for up to 8 weeks to get my free giftcard. At week 10, my status hadnt changed, I called them, AMAZINGLY, they couldnt even FIND my info in the system. And when I checked back the next day, my account was no longer valid.
Never again!

Re: I have to know this...
I keep getting these offers for 500 dollar gift cards from huge retailers...okay, you sign up for some cds, a credit card, and get a magazine, and then you get 500 bucks for old navy...? I keep rationalizing it, like, okay, I'll spend 20-30 bucks on this stuff (and of course spend 3-4 hours signing up for them) and then I'll get a 500 dollar gift card...it seems too easy...

Yeah, too easy for them to get your money and leave you hanging.

i'm just curious as to why are they allowed to lead people on to believing they're gonna get something for virtually nothing?

Because they can. I had to change my Bosses e-mail address (and he owns the company so it was a real pain) since he decided one day that he was "gonna get a John Deere tractor for free". Needless to say after getting 750 spam e-mails in 1 day I had to clean off his computer and put him on internet restrictions. He has now learned if he wants something for free to leave it to the "professional freebie hunter" aka ME.
