Another, what would you have done thread
I don't know about in your areas, but here in Tennessee early voting has started for the November elections. Yesterday I was out at one of the polling stations handing out pamplets/information on the Republican Ballot. I live in a district that is 80% democrat 20% republican. So, needless to say, I was out numbered. There was about 50 dems out in the 100 degree sun and just the lone republican....me (my brother did come by later).
So, I am sitting there when one of the candidates comes up and starts talking to his workers (which happened to be his daughter in law and granddaughter). He was telling them that they needed to be telling people who to vote for (except for the governer, they were all black). No biggie, but, I kind of took exception to his next remark. He tells them to tell people to NOT vote for one guy (and he is a dem. also) and these are his exact words of reasoning "....because he is WHITE".
So, tell me, what would you have done?

I would have confronted him and made a BIG old stink over it. Politicians play dirty, but using ones race is about as low as you can get.. even for a politician.... make sure to tell your friends!

His daughter in law asked him if he realized what he had just said with me sitting right there. He turned to me with that politician smile and introduced himself. I asked him, "and why should I vote for you?"....lol.
This city is so racially divided that it isn't funny (for you that do not know, I live in Memphis, TN...home to the Ford dienasty). I could care less what the color of the candidate is. I will vote for who I believe is the right person, white or black, male or female, democrat or republican. And I did vote for a couple of democrats yesterday What we need are elected officials that will pull this city back together otherwise we will continue in this downward spiral that we are in.

I would have something. This race stuff has got to stop. Just because someone is white, black, brown, pink, purple...should not make one bit of difference. That was sick and he should have been confronted about it

I would have told him that he was a racist, no better than a member of the KKK.

In my loud carries for miles voice I'd have had to say something like "and here I thought racism was dead in the US"

I had to be a bit "diplomatic" because I was there as part of my brother's campaign. But believe me, I have told everyone I talk to about this guy and tell them his name. They are offended by the comment the same as me and they are black.

How about a anonomyous email to your local news or something. I hate when people act like that. I defiently would never vote for him because it is the principle of the thing and the integrity of the man

I think writing to the paper is an excellent idea, get this guy publically, you DO NOT want his fake politician butt in office b/c you see what he truly is now...You should let people know what he is truly about....
