Had the baby and quite a scare! He's a doll baby!! see pix!

aby news/pics.....prayers needed please.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi aLL. DS, JOshua Owen was born at 10:13am WEd. July 5th. 6lbs 10oz and 19" long. Shortly after, it was noted he was having trouble breathing. HE was placed in an oxygen hood and was being monitoreed. His oxygen blood level would drop instantly if taken out. (I was so groggy, this is the best I can recollect). Xray was done in the nite when no improvement came. Xray showed a partially collapsed (or actually "non working lung"). HE had a pocket of air outside the lung (neo something or other) HE then was transferred on Thursday afternoon to Indy to St. Vincent hospital NICU. I had to stay in Kokomo hospital til Sat. Indy has said it is some pneumonia and some premature lungs. He was on a CPAP machine, had an IV in his head, an IV w/ several lines in his umbillical area, a tube in his mouth, draining stomach fluids... though now those all have been removed. He has shown steady improvement each day. He had some jaundice, but it got better after a few days under the light. All tubes were removed today, but a new IV line was put in his head to put his antibiotic into. I was finally able to hold him yesterday and give him a bottle of milk . We can hold him and feed him his bottles now. He seems to be doing so good and are looking at getting out at the end of the week. Some of the tiny little babies there are so heartbreaking. Please keep all of them as well as Joshua in your prayers for a full, speedy recovery. HE is now 6lbs 5oz. He was geting 2 heel sticks a day for blood tests. I am having a hard time w/ severe swelling of the feet/ankles/calves/hands and some in the face. I see the dr on Wed. and am hoping for some relief. It is very hard to stay off of my feet in this situation. We are staying at a place here in INdy for parents of NICU pts.
Please keep us in your prayers.
ps.....he is so darn cute!...please go here for some pics!!

So glad wee one is doing much better. He is adoreable, as is"Boo" !!!! His freckles are awesome. :-) Two marvelous children. Hope your swelling is better now also.
You can say any foolish thing to a dog, and the dog will give you a look that says,"My God, you're right! I never would have thought of that." Dave Barry
