OT? ~ Great Smokies Flea Market, TN ??

Hi Hi... DH & I are going to the Great Smokies Flea Market this weekend, we've never been, so if anyone has any tips or information, please let me know. We were gonna stay over-night but we couldn't find a hotel up there for inder $50. ~ niki

When I go to flea markets I bring CASH, tape measure, a rolling cart, old newspapers or bags( to wrap stuff in) and a couple of bungee cords ( helps to hook things together), plus I bring bottled water and wear comfortable shoes and NO kids(lol)...I wish I was going with you...Have FUN!!

Its 20 miles NW of Knoxville - 15 miles N of Pigeon Forge. We've never been, but have seen it on JUNKIN' ( the best show EVER! ) , so we want to go check it out. , but with gas prices the way they are we may have to pospone the trip.

Okay, I go to this Flea Market several times a year. I just went a few weeks ago and I can tell you this... it has expanded. It is a nice little flea market, nothing fancy and to be honest some of the booths don't have much of anything. It really depends on what you're looking for.

Whatever you do, do not go to the one that has something to do with Traders and Fleas, I can't remember the exact name...and there's a reason for it. Frankly it SUCKS. The are almost EMPTY because every one is at the other one you mentioned...

Oh and if Flea Markets have levels of Class... definitely go to the first one.

Although really you should go to Sweetwater, TN because their fleamarket is the largest in the state of Tennessee and it's NICE. It's not far from Knoxville, Gatlinburg at all.

Isnt there one that is like a lot of yard sales on a road some where in that area?? If so what time of the year is it ? I think it is from one town to another..or something like that...I saw it on tv once..

I live 15 miles from the one at Sweetwater, we are fixing to have a 502 mile yard sale May 18-21, it goes from Bristol Va, thru Knoxville Tn, Chattanooga Tn, thru Ga, then to Birm. Al, then on to Meridian Miss. this one goes by my house, we have gone to it for like 2 yrs, and it is great, it is mostly antiques on down, but alot of people have about everything. then there is another one that has everything too Aug. 3-6. it goes from Covington Ky, to Gadsden Al. we have gone to it for a couple of years, I can't believe the people that has trailers hooked on to their trucks and cars, just filled with everything, but there are great buys, I mostly look for clothes for my granddaughter and me. And if you go on Sunday, people are looking just to give stuff away cheaper so they don't have to load it up. but you can't find a motel anywhere on these routes, they have been booked like 6 mths in advance.
