Thread: Need more people for three month SECRET PAL exchange!

You will love doing this, plus Sheila is a great person.

There is a $10.00 minimum a month for the gift exchange (not including shipping) you can send as many gifts as you want or one big gift, its up to you. REMEMBER THIS IS A GIFT EXCHANGE!


I am going to go into a little more detail with this because of a problem that happened in the past.


REGARDING GIFT TO BE SENT:

- This is to be a NEW ITEM.

******* You MUST send at least TWO item off your partners wish list. If there is nothing listed on your Secret Friends list that you want to send PLEASE email me ASAP and I will contact your partner for a longer list. I know this could in the end give me a lot more work but I think the recipients will be a lot happier as we have had a few problems over the last couple months.

- It can be something you have a stockpile of or something you go out and buy BUT IT MUST BE NEW. Be considerate when sending stockpile items. None of us pay full price for these items so that should be remembered when calculating the value of the item.

- If you send a FREE PRODUCT coupon the value is to be calculated at 25% of the max value and should have at least a 30 day window before it expires.

- Sometimes we have something off someone's list that is used but in excellent condition (this has happened before with people sending books) as long as the person has said on their list they don't mind used items then you can send it. I just don't want anything sent that is worn out, pages torn out of it, clothes with stains etc. If you send used items that are in bad condition this will result in failure to send gift and you will be asked to send something else or be reported to the bad traders list.


REGARDING SENDING SAMPLES AND COUPONS:

- If you send samples of items you get in the mail or pick up at a store like aspirin, face cream, soap, ANYTHING that you got as a FREE sample you cannot count that in your total.

- Coupons for Dollars or cents off do not count towards the value of your partners gift, these are considered a bonus. So DON'T just send and envie of coupons. This will not be considered an acceptable gift and you will be ask to resend.

PLEASE READ THIS:

You are sent a list of your partner's likes and dislikes you must send at least TWO item off their list. What I have been getting a lot of feedback on is that people don't use the lists at all. We have these for a reason to make sure you send your partner something they can use. I heard from one member who got one item off her likes list and 4 items off her dislikes list. To me that is very inconsiderate when you have the list infront of you. USE THE PROFILE LISTS PLEASE

** Please remember to look at your partners profile if they have put NO to used gifts please do not send them anything used

** Think of this when you are making up your package... would you be happy with what you are sending.. If the answer is no then send something else **


Some examples of items that do not count as gifts

- Used worn out items

- Books with pages torn out

- Books that come with coupons that you have taken the coupons out of

- Samples

- Coupons

- Forms

- Expired items

- Lotions, face creams etc that are used

- Damaged items (remember if you are sending anything breakable, make sure its wrapped well and if it was me I would be insuring it) We have had this a couple times when people have sent out gifts the items inside where damaged in shipping and they ended up having to resend another gift.


Some examples of items that are good to send and easy to mail (plz look at your partners lists first)

- Stamps

- Gift cards (you can always email me and I can find out what stores are in your partners area)

- Address labels

- Personalized Stationary

- WISH LIST ITEMS


2) REGARDING SHIPPING:

- Your shipping costs DO NOT count towards the value of your gift.

- If you send something breakable and it breaks in transit you are responsible to resend something. Your partner must send proof of the damage e.g. pictures of the box it was shipped in, item condition upon arrival etc. If its breakable and your worried about it breaking either send something else or BUY insurance ($1.30 for $50 of insurance not bad)

- If you choose to send your package and not use a form of shipping that you can prove to me the item has been shipped e.g. delivery confirmation and your partner informs me that they have not received their package you will be asked to reship the item.

- I will be keeping track of anyone that emails me about damaged items or items not received so do not abuse this or else I will be forced to ask you to leave the exchange.

- YOU MUST SHIP WITHIN THREE DAYS OF THE SHIPPING DATE OF THE EXCHANGE (and notify me that this has been done which most of you do)FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN A STRIKE AGAINST YOU (if you get a lot of strikes you will be asked to leave the exchange). NOTE there are some exceptions to the rules e.g.: family emergency, medical problems, weather conditions etc but remember Im a member on the board so I do see your posts. I feel I need take these steps because someone once emailed me and said they lost all access to a computer, couldn't log onto rs or get their email so they couldn't get their sfriends info to send the gift so it was two weeks late. Well I did a search on this person because I had thought I had seen them post and I was right they had a ton of posts listed so I knew they had lied and their partner was the one that had to wait which I don't think is fair.

3) You will need to email me once you have mailed your gift and again to let me know you received your gift. PLEASE don't forget to do this as it takes a lot of time for me to email the ones that aren't contacting me just to ask if they have done this…Include the delivery confirmation number and how your item was shipped in that email. Most of you do this already so its nothing new to you.


4) This is a big one. If I receive more than three valid complaints against someone they will be asked to leave the exchange.

BY SIGNING UP FOR THIS EXCHANGE YOU AGREE TO ALL THE RULES LISTED ABOVE. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE RULES ALLOWS ME THE RIGHT TO REPORT YOU TO THE BAD TRADERS LISTS I USE. I WILL MAKE EVERY ATTEMPT TO SOLVE ANY MATTERS ADDRESSED TO ME REGARDING THE EXCHANGE BEFORE I TAKE THE ABOVE STEPS.


Delivery Confirmation is not mandatory but recommended. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (this is the best way to prove you mailed your package) After this last exchange I advise everyone to do this. I had a few people send more than one gift because packages didn't arrive and they didn't have delivery confirmation.

Any word on when we're starting this? My computer's been acting up, spending more time at the doctor's then here with me, so I haven't been able to check in or check my emails.

The thing is headed back to the doctors today.
