I need help!!
My 2 cats just had kittens within 2 days of each other and they were doing real good with feeding etc. Well now the yougest mom just took one of her kittens and went and hid with it and the other mom took another of the youngest moms kittens and went and hid with it!!!!!!!! Now I have 6 other kittens in their boxes crying for their moms. Is this normal ?? What is going on????

Re: I need help!!
First of all, Back off from them. What they are doing is a normal reaction. you didn't say if you have them indoors or outdoors but each mother is trying to protect her kittens from the other and probably you too. It's pure instinct. What you need to quit hovering. Make sure they have access to the kittens and then BACK OFF and give them space. Don't try to follow and find them- you'll just make them move and hide them again. If you stress the mothers too much, they may eat the kittens or abandon them. They are aware they kittens are crying but they are waiting til it's safe to come get another one. Try not to handle them. The mothers know how long they can be away and you don't.This is really the only thing to do at this point as it's a stress reaction - in a few days or a week you'll figure out where they are. Just Go Away and give them space. I know that it is really hard to do but you must.
Best of luck with it all.

I have them in the house and they seem to be doing all right now after they each got their own together!! I was panicking for a while though.
