Help me help dude the cat please

Dude, 1yr old neutered male, has been out in the heat all day.
He came in whining. He is a talker but this was a "hurt" meow.
He isn't purring and keeps licking his lips.Any advise?
I know take him to the vet, but Megan went to the ent. If he isn't
better by tomarrow I will. I look into his mouth and everything look ok.
    Thanks

Get him cool at quickly as possible. Take him to the coolest room in your house, maybe the basement. After cooling him down, I hope he has plenty of water to drink, then if he is still acting sick it may be something else besides the heat. Just watch him and if he does not improve or gets worse take him to the vet.

he sounds overheated and dehydrated....I know cats HATE water but maybe hold him in a cold towel and make sure he is drinking plenty of water

I hope your cat is feeling better. My cat doesn't mind water because she's used to having baths since I have been giving her a bath since she was a kitten. Hopefully he was just hot and it's nothing serious.

Hope the cat is ok. I am probably a little late, but make sure you don't cool him down too fast (like putting him in cold water) it can cause his temp to change too quick and make him go into shock.

He is acting better. Not howling anymore. Thanks for the suggestions. I think he got to hot. Heat index was 108. He is not going out anymore till tomarrow and then back in.Megan said God healed him.

Tell Megan that she is right.
