Re: Vaginal Birth after TWO c-sections?!?!

Whew, I'm back at the library. Janelle, I actually had a c-section the first time because my cervix was about to rupture at 9 1/2 cm. I healed very quickly with his birth and because of that I opted for another section when I had my daughter. They hurt some muscles inside and I literally had severe to bad pain for over 2 months. It was really tough and I had a hard time taking care of her like I wanted to. This time I just want to give the natural way another shot, but without lofty expectations. I've been put to sleep for both of my deliveries so there is a part of me that would love to watch one of my babies being born (I can't have epidurals/spinals) I hope that helps answer your question. It just gives me a lot more confidence when I see that other people have done this before and that I could very possibly have a shot at a vaginal delivery...OOOO...we found out what we are having. It's a BOY!!!! ((((hugs))))

Re: Vaginal Birth after TWO c-sections?!?!

I've had VB and c-sections... I would pick a CS ANY day! I healed so much faster than I did with a VB. Had I known how much nicer a CS was, I would have asked for a CS everytime LOL

I didn't have a VB after a CS, but my sister did and I think that if your doctor is supportive and every looks ok and its what you want to go, then go for it Good luck!

I had a vbac. A section is just awful, it is not the way nature intended, but it is a godsend, my first child was a transverse breech (he was lying sideways, with his elbow in the birth canal, I would have died). Anyway, with the iv, the foley catheter, the bedrest, plus you can't walk straight for a month. When you have natural childbirth, sure it hurts mightly, I was in labor for over 30 hours, but when its over, its over.
    I'm a Baha'i,ask me why.

Re: Vaginal Birth after TWO c-sections?!?!

I vbac'd after two cesareans and it was amazing, empowering and awesome.

Cesarean is a surgical birth - not at all in any way natural as God (or whatever higher power you believe in ) intended.
Doctors don't deliver babies. Women birth babies.

My cesareans were emergencies - and I believe totally brought on by induction with pitocin, epidurals and laying down in a bed vs walking, squatting and birthing the way any woman can birth.

    You CAN do it.
    check out i-can.org
    and read:
The thinking womans guide to a better birth
    and Birthing from Within

Stomache surgery is no fun. And it can kill you. And as for this
"I think the baby looks better since they do not have to go through the birth canal that can squeesh them"
Yah, um, i'm sorry if this might be rude but are you kidding me? You'd rather your baby look better but be full of drugs and cut out of your stomache vs coming into the world the way we were intended to birth? Yikes.

My first c's were 10 years apart, my vbac was 3 years later . I was 38 when I birthed my son, totally naturally and was incredible.

Oh, work with a midwife if you can vs an ob. An ob will tell you that "you can try to vbac", a midwife will tell you "great. we're going to vbac". Attitude is everything. You know you can do it - so just do it

Good luck and if you want to chat email me at supersilks@cox.net

also after my c-section they cut my muscles in my tummy and it does nothing but sag (believe me it is not pretty) They also messed up my nerves, I have no feelin in my lower belly. I can zip my belly in my pants and don't know I did it till I see blood. GRRRRRRRR I hate it but guess what its for life.
