Thread: Anyone here doing LA WEIGHT LOSS????

I started 3 weeks ago and am dissappointed! I would have never joined if I had know about the EXTRA expense!! I can't afford those BARS! ANYWAY -- I am doing one of the other menus and I am just not happy !! The results is slow and it is hard to "stay on plan"!!

Just wanted to talk to someone else that is doing this - I don't know anyone around here that is doing it and I drive over 27 miles to the center once a week so I haven't met anyone there either!

Let me know about your success -- or failure --LOL! If anyone is out there!

I went in there a fews yrs back for the free consultation. I had about 90lbs to lose. I thought at $7 a week, I could afford this. Well no, not how it works. They figured 90lbs to lose at 2lbs a week, it'd take me 45 weeks. 45 weeks times $7 each week equals $315, plus the $75 for "bloodwork" and the bars, which she said I would want/need, at I think $40! The total was close to $500 which she kept pressuring me to put on a cc that day. (They would give me a 10% discount if I bought that day only) Oh, and it included one year of maintainence assistance for free...all that meant was after I lost the wt (if I ever did), I could come in once a week to be weighed! Drive 20 mins one way to be weighed?? I"ve got 3 sets of scales at my own house! duh! I don't think so!! I told her I wanted to check w/ DH before putting $500 on the cc and she asked if I had a cell phone on me. She said "I'll leave for a minute so you can call" I told her no, I wanted to talk to him in person. She was not happy!! Sorry, not much help I realize. I stayed fat for awhile, then found Atkins. It's FREE and works! In one year I lost 75lbs and eat all the time seems like! lol!

Good luck to you. I hope you didn't pay a ton of money to LA Wt Loss. I hope it gets easier for you! Losing wt. isn't easy no matter how you do it!

Thanks Shancopp nand Eyore for the info. I did pay $450 for the year BUT ... I flat out refused to buy their LA lites (the bars). They want you to eat 2 a day and they are $28 for 14 (1 week supply)! They did give me a onetime option of buying them for 9.50 a box instead of the 14.00!! LOL-- that was still $1000!! As if they hadn't gotten enough out of me!! I only have 35 lbs too lose!!!

I have done Atkins 2X -- lost 25 lb first time gained back 33 and the second I lost 20 and gained back 30!! I just can't live CARB free!! I do like the diet better and am losing 2-3 lbs a week which is healthy. I just am very frustrated on how misleading they were before I signed up! They make it sound like you can eat out often and not change very much -- just by learning the "right food choices" to make! WELL... the right food choices according to them are SALADS!!! NO CRAP!!! WELL.. now I have paid my dues and I'm stuck!! So I am trying to make the best of it!

I do wish I had the $$ to buy those dang bars though -- the fruit and oat and the carmel one were really good! OH WELL!!

Congrats to you Shancopp on the weight loss! I don't know how you do it! I am a sucker for breads, pasta's, POPCORN!, and pizza!! And I did try all the carb free stuff Atkins approved and it tasted like CRAP to me!! LOL! I just did with out when I was on the diet!

OH... I can't believe that out of all these members I am the only one doing LA weight loss -- I guess I should've done Jenny Craig with Kirstie! Or weight watchers! I am so needing a buddy to do this with!

Just wanted to post that even with all the GRIPING and complaining and cheating -- I am down 8.6 lbs! (I maintained for 2 weeks and then lost 7.4 this past week)

I love lawl. I need someone telling me what to eat; I have serious food issues-control issues, really. My issue is that I have no self control, lol! Seriously though, I joined for only $4 a week. They sell the bars on ebay all the time. Besides, you don't have to buy them, they are only recommended to keep you from getting hungry between meals. My hubby is doing the plan with me. (free of course), & he is eating detour bars. Love those things, they taste like a Baby Ruth! They do not have their own meals eyore, you must have lawl mixed up with another plan. At lawl, you eat your own food. Maybe you are thinking Jenny Craig or Nutrisystem.

Cathych -- how long have you been doing the LA wl? And how much have you lost (if you don't mind me asking)? I had to pay $8 a week for mine -- and the bars are STILL outrageous on ebay!! But I am not using them -- on purple plan.
I am doing better --still have a hard time with being so strict. We are a last minute kind of family and sometimes I don't plan well and get caught at the end of the day with me and the kids starving with out ANYthing good to cook -- (no time to cut veggies and meat still 1/2 frozen!) so sandwiches or pizza get eaten! We also go out to the movies OFTEN and I have a hard time passing up the popcorn and I have usually had both my starches by then !
Easter was a disaster -- we went to the inlaws and they live in a tiny town -- 50 miles from any decent restaraunt and they could CARE LESS about anyones elses diet! They cooked HAM and dressing, and chicken and dumplings and other bad southern stuff! That night we had a FISH FRY! The next day she had made lasagna and we had a salad. But for supper it was LEFTOVERS!! -- I ate so very little -- but I know it was all still off plan. I don't know what I am going to do about those type of situations -- I ate as much salad as I could stand (besides there were 10 of us too share it) and about the same size portions as my 6 year old! ANYWAY!! Since I was out of town I didn't weigh in last week and Tues I have to go face them -- I hope I didn't screw up too bad.
I am just having a hard time fitting this in to my life -- It is NOT CONVIENENT -- but it is not impossible either -- I will manage some how! LOL!
ANYWAY -- thanks for listening -- and any info you have would be appreciated. I like to here success stories!

sry it took me so long to reply, I have been oot-I have lost about 30 lbs., but a whole lot of inches, I have gone from a size 24 to a size 14/16. It is just me & dh, so I don't have trouble fitting it into my life at all, but I can see where it might be hard with kids. We never eat fast food at all, my hubby is a vegetarian, & there is just not anything for him to eat in those places, plus he does not want the fries or anything, because meat is cooked in the oil they use.
