I think my cat may have a little problem...
Alright, this may end up being the weirdest post I've ever done. But I'm serious. And my cat's Veterinarian likely thinks I'm nuts, but here goes...
Not for days, weeks or even a month or two, but for many, many months. Like 24 or more months...our cat Checkers has every night in dots room takes beanie babies in her mouth while dd is sleeping and placed several beanies all over her bed from head to toe.
13 year old dd wakes in morning buried in like dozens and dozens of her beanies. Sixty-plus total. I mean like it’s a party of various beanies. Mind you, dd face is never covered. But I feel this is really odd
Yet, many moons ago I thought dd was kidding but I personally have caught Checkers in the act of beanie kidnapping and placing them on her bed many times.

Maybe she thinks they are her babies and are trying to put them by her. I have no Idea but it does sound cute.

That is so funny. Maybe Checkers is putting a safewall of beanie helpers to protect your daughter during the night. Who knows what cats think? Never have figured one out yet. I'm not a cat lover but they are beautiful critters. Now that I live with the kids, they have Jameela, a huge, overweight Siamese cat. She looks like those fat cat photos that float around on the net.

I agree with Nana maybe checkers is doing it so DD is safe and just protecting her. Cats can amaze us sometimes, and you can never figure out why they do somethings but im sure if cats could talk they have a good answer for why they do certain things

OK...this may be as weird an explanation as to why the cat does it but....... I'm assuming Checkers is an indoor cat and with that, I'm guessing that he/she brings those to her as "love tokens" for your daughter because the cat knows those "please" your daughter. AKA...."tokens of Checker's affection". Outside cats are known to leave mice, birds, whatever they can catch in their owner's homes, on the doorstep, wherever the owner will find them. (my friend found a baby rabbit hopping in her kitchen one morning brought in by her cat). And Nana...I'm as sober as sober goes today...lol

So glad you are sober today Annie. I didn't drink much at all during super bowl, too busy munching. I agree with you about Checkers bringing gits. Jameela does that if she sneaks outdoors, coming home with a mouse. My daughters cats used to bring home baby squirrels, bunnies.

too bad you couldn't set up a video camera to catch the act for the vet to see.

I have heard that when a cat brings its kill to you they are trying to share there food with you because you feed and care for it. Is your daughter the one that feeds the cat and cares for it? The cat may be trying to share her kill with her.
Her kill being the beanie babies.

I'm thinkin' the same thing. If she were bringing a gift, I don't think she would bring so many. So I think she thinks they're kittens. Unless Checkers is a boy. Then it kinda shots this theory out the window. lol

Re: I think my cat may have a little problem...
yes i agree
cause my cat punkin on night at 430 he caught a mouse and had put it in the bed on my husbands side and my husband was laying on his side facing away from the cat and when he rolled over and realized it was a real mouse oh my gosh covers husband and all went flying........me i was rollin on the floor laughin my butt off......
then we have an outside cat that has adopted me we live ten miles out in the country and the pound in town they periodically bring cats out and turn them loose in the horse barn for the feedlot...which is just across the way from my house...any way she started comin up and leaving birds, field mice, rabbits on my doorstep.....
and oh my gosh the cats and kittens they bring out and turn loose live like kings and queens cause the feedlot buys cat food for them and they get to eat all they can hold and plus all the mice.....
