Thread: mommy with girls starting to develope

my oldest dd will be 11 in july. a couple of her friends have already started. i am glad she is holding of, lol. but i am sure it is jsut around the bend. she does were a bra now though, and she never mentioned them hurting. but we have already had the talk about all of it, so i hope she will be ready when the time comes. if any of us are ready, lol. anyway, i agree it is happening alot sooner than it did when we were young. i was 12 when i started. and as for the boobs, i am still waiting, lol. j/k.

edited bc i wanted to add that aren't girls bigger than we were? i mean, i am still small (5'4" and about 128) but my dd is already 5' !!!! and she ways about 90. i was not 90 unitl about 11th grade, lol.
but my point is she is not even the biggest or tallest in her class!

yes the children now a days are so much taller then we was at ther age...my daughter is almost 5 foot and weighs 65 pounds so hopefully the period is along way off she already knows what to do when it comes because our bathroom seems like it is the meeting place......lol no privacy for me at all.... the girls fight over who is taking off the paper and everything so she wont be shocked when it does come...she only has to wear a bra with like a sweater or a real light shirt dd has a friend in her class now mind you this is 3rd grade, and she is already in like a c cup the poor thing she looks like she is a teenager already hips and all,i know what you mean...i was waiting for mine and then i had kids and then they never left.....lol..went from a B to C

Yes, they do get lumps. My daughter went through this about a year ago when she started to develop. I freaked out too, thinking something was wrong, but looked puberty up on the internet and was able to relax. I also printed the info out and let her read it so she knows what to expect. That way she could read it in private, and if she had questions she could ask me. Also, I don't know about the puberty thing starting around 100lbs, because my daughter is about 80lbs, probably 5'1" already! I really hope the period stays away for awhile! Good luck and relax....

OH, and she also had the lumps on one side, but it was awhile before it was on the other side too..

my dd got her first little pimple on her nose the other day and I got rid of it ...oh I hope she has a complexion like her dad very seldom does he get a pimple I think it is the Indian in him...lol...shewwwwww glad to hear somebody elses did not start evenly kind of worriesome....but I know it is just all starting so have to expect a little strange stuff happening...hope she dont get to mouthy now with the puberty.....lol...
