    Computer help, please

I recently reformatted an old(20 gig, 128 mb) computer for my son to use for word processing and games(NO internet in his room). After I reinstalled, I wasnt able to change the video resolution. I found the driver for the monitor and installed it, but I stall cant move the resolution from 16 bit. He cant play games with the resolution at this level, it needs to be higher.

How do I fix this? I have tried everything I can think of, but nothing is working.

    Thanks!

Other than doing a video card driver update(that would be my first guess) how about doing windows updates. Something is always wrong with my video until I do my updates, not sure what but the updates takes care of it though.
