Would this be ok?

Would it be ok for a 4 yr old boy and a 1 yr old girl to share the same bedroom? They would each have their own bed and so on, they would just need to share the space.

We only have three bedrooms here and of course me and DH have one of them and as of right now my daughter (the 1 yr old) has her own room and the two boys share a room. Well my oldest son is 13 and is always complaining about not having privacy or his own space and so on and I can understand that because I was the same way at that age. So would it be ok for me to put the two little ones into a room together even though they are boy and girl?

I would think it would be ok for awhile---maybe a year or so...then if you still have to share the room, maybe get a divider for the other older boys room, that way he will still have privacy and space of his own...

My sister and I shared a room, my cousins, 2 boys and 2 girls shared a room till they were like 13.

Yeah I think it's ok for now since they're still young to share. Probably in teens though they'd want to be seperated and by that time you're oldest should probably be in college?

Thanks everyone for the replies. I was thinking along the same lines as them just having to share for a year or so. Maybe by then we will have a bigger place (we've been looking).

I'm going to be very busy tomorrow moving all of this stuff. DH will be too but he doesn't know that yet. LOL

I'm going to go through all of Harley's toys and get out all of the small things so that Courtney can't get ahold of them. I guess I'll store them in the garage until she's a little bigger.

I also think it would be ok. Heck back in Pioneer days they all slept in the same bed, up to 10 and 11 kids...yikes, can you imagine? I can see where your 13 year old is coming for that for sure. Once you get the rooms switched over take a pic, it will probably be the last time you see a teens room that clean..lol.

Yeah...it'll be fine...I even like the idea of the divider between the young ones.

I shared a bedroom with my sister until she moved out....we slept in the same bed too. We didn't like it but we didn't mind either...it was a 2 bedroom apt. and my brother got one bedroom to himself...and my mom slept on the couch (still does) and me and my sister always shared a room...no wonder she moved out on her 18th birthday lol

Now my mom has a spacious 2 bedroom apt. all to herself and she still sleeps on the couch in the front room.... she claims one bedroom is haunted (its not) and the other bedroom is for my brother (when he gets outta prison...well now hes at a boot camp place...its a boot camp for incarcerated people) Its been too many years since she had a bedroom...the last time she had a bedroom that I can think of is when my dad was still alive and he died in 1985...and I'm not even sure they had a bedroom then either..hmmm...thats something I could ask her haha...okay I've blabbed for long enough

My kids all 3 of them shared a bedroom till the oldest was about 8 cuz they were all scared to sleep in a room by theirselfs........lol anyways my oldest son is 13 and if the other boys are gone to their other parents he sleeps in the living room cuz he dont like to sleep in the bedroom by hisself an our room is rite across the hallway...

YankeeMary, I can't even begin to imagine how people lived like that. I mean 11 + kids!! I would be so crazy if I had that many. LOL

Oh I will be taking pics of the room because he is always saying he can't keep his room clean because of the 4 yr old. Uh huh, we'll see about that. hehe

My brother and I shared a room until I was around 8 or so. We loved it....drove our parents crazy though b/c we would stay up late giggling or shining flashlights at each other
We had a twin bed on opposite sides of the room along with our toys. The middle of the room was "neutral" territory....he always seemed to hog it with all his army toys though. My poor Barbies were constantly being ran over by tanks and such, he explained by saying he was pretending that they were bridges.
