    Thumbs up Bless Their Hearts

DH was out shoveling snow in the drive way and had been working at it for two hours or so. We don't have a snow shovel, just a regular small shovel so it was taking him a while to get through all of the snow and snow drifts. Well down the street you could hear what sounded like a lawn mower and all you could see was a man with snow blowing clear over his head and out into the street. I told DH "that's what we need" and he said "yeah, that would be great" and then he went back to work.

A few minutes later I heard the lawn mower sound again and looked out front there was a man and woman clearing out our whole drive way with the automatic snow blower and shovel. They both were working at it, one with the blower and one with the shovel. Bless their hearts, they had done all of the houses up the street from ours. Its so cold out (below zero with the wind chill) and guess what?? They don't even live here!! They are here visiting family for the holidays and just decided to help everyone out. How sweet is that?? They were a blessing to us as I'm sure they were so many others here. I hope they get all of their good deeds returned to them in some way. We gave them something to drink and DH was going to give them $20 for doing our drive way. I'm not sure if they took the money or not because DH is still outside. I just wanted to come in here and post about the kindness of strangers that we encountered today. I thought it was so very sweet of them.

    Happy Holidays!

Golly, a Christmas present from strangers. So wonderful and I'm sure highly appreciated. Maybe you could find out who they are visiting and do something sometime for that family. When I lived out in the country, anyone with a snowplow attached to their tractor, plowed everyone's driveway or road, whatever was needed. There really are some good folks in this world and you don't always have to look for them. Many times they find you

Wow, that is soo cool. I wish I had neighbors like that (or that had family that was so nice). Reminds me of the time my grampa paid all the neighborhood kids a quarter to pick up all the leaves in our yard (he is a clean freak and even raked in a forest once. when gramma told him the leaves were supposed to be there, he spread them back out when he left, lol.)

I have always said that complete strangers will offer to help before a family member will. That was really nice of them to do that.

It's stories like that that make this season special. I wish it would roll over into the whole year. Bless those people.

    Re: Bless Their Hearts

They did take the money but DH made them. lol They didn't want to but he kept on and on until they did. It was very sweet of them and just in case they happen to read this (or someone else they know does) THANK YOU!!

They told my DH that after the new year they would be going to Germany for three years because the man is in the Marines. They said they figured they better come and visit family now because they wouldn't get to after they leave. They will be in my thoughts and prayers for a safe and wondeful trip.
