Re: Does anyone do mystery shopping
Here are the ones that I mystery shop for. They have all paid me on time and are reputable and NONE ask for money to work with/for them:
Mystery Shopping Companies
*A lot of the mystery shopping companies and schedulers use Sassie. You need a DIFFERENT account with each company, not just ONE Sassie account.
Kern Scheduling (A scheduling company works for/schedules Mystery Shoppers to conduct shops)
-I do mostly digital camera shops for this company--I go to gas stations and garages and inconspicuosly take pictures of the facility. I get paid between $5 and $15 for each individual shop. They do not reimburse for mandatory purchases, however, when a purchase is required, it only needs to be something small like a pack of gum.

BAI - Bare Associates International
-A lot of Bank and Airport mystery shops. They pay between $10-$15 each and reimburse you if you need to make a purchase.

Beyond Hello
-Fast Food shops, outlet shops. Pays $15 and up per shop plus reimbursements.

Confero
-Food shops (Aramark, Burger King) & Bank shops. Pays $5.00 and up plus reimbursements.

CRI-Corporate Research International
-Aerial Beauty Supply, Hardees & Pizza Shops--Papa John's. I do both digital camera shops as well as no photo required shops for them. The digital camera ones require you to take photos of the pizza before you eat it. The pay is $6 plus full reimbursement for the pizza. The no photo ones you just need to time how long it takes the pizza to get to you. There is no pay, but the pizza is fully reimbursed. We do not have any Aerial Beauty Supply or Hardee's here in Maine.

Franchise Compliance
-Bath Fitter--I make a 3 minute phone call to Bath Fitter to evaluate their customer service and get paid $5!

ICDDS
-Rite Aid, Saturday Matinee & Fye (usually around $10 per shop plus reimbursement)

Jancyn
-Supermarket Shops -- Reimbursed up to $15 of grocery bill PER STORE

National Audits
-Theater Shops (go in, write down what trailers and commercials play) You can stay for the movie if you like (FREE) and each shop pays $7.00
National Shopping Service
-Friendly's (We pretty much eat out once per month for free) They pay $19 reimbursement for the meal (it's supposed to be for one person, but you can bring guests, they just only reimburse $19). The pay is $6.00. That equals out to $25 which is just enough for Adam and I to have a meal out together for Free.

I'd like to bump this up ... can anyone update companies they do mystery shops for?

Stick with the list that JKatherine posted. There are enough mystery shops with those companies to last a lifetime. (Not all of those companies will have shops in your area, sign up for them all & weed out the ones that have shops in your area)
And, mystery shopping isn't just going to a store & buying something, you (on some occasions) have to take a test or take a corse just to do a particular store/shop.
In some cases you have to memorize a ton of questions to ask, you have to do things a certain way. Some times you have to do a purchase and a return, so that is twice you have to go to the shop/store. You also have to be a good actor., if you are nervous or are timid, you shouldn't sign up to be a mystery shopper.
It seems whenever I get people to sign up for mystery shops, they look into and they say, that it is not worth it. It really depends on the shop., to me an hour worth of work for a Sonic Burger Combo & $5 is not worth it., but to some people it might be. Some shops pay well, some shops pay bonuses, etc.. some shops don't.
Also, be prepared to get a paypal account if you don't already have one. Most shops only pay thru paypal.
Rudeness is the weak person's imitation of strength.
