Hunters what would you pay to hunt?
We have a eight point buck, plus other deer on our property? What is the going rate to have someone hunt?
I would much rather see the deer live but I know he is going to be shot by people slipping in and with cash being so short just as well get something for them hunting on us.
But don't know what to ask?

Re: Hunters what would you pay to hunt?
There are a couple questions that would need to be answered first. How much land do you have that will be hunted on? How many hunters will there be?

People have to pay to hunt??
I knew they had to pay for a license, but I didn't know they had to pay to go on property... makes sense I guess, just new to me.

It does depend on a lot of things like; where do you live? Is there more than just one deer to be killed, how far is your house from the property that they will be hunting on? etc. Most importantly~where do you live? My husband is a hunter and if it were me offering the hunt, I would definitely say archery only hunt. Archery hunters are usually very ethical (not that rifle hunters don't) and an arrow doesn't carry as far as a bullet! Hope this helps.

Nah you can hunt for free if you hunt on national forest property. But if you want to hunt on private property you have to get the owners permission, but alot of times, they will "lease" the land to you during hunting season.

Re: Hunters what would you pay to hunt?
We have 24 acres adjoining 77 areas with the next farm. None of us have ever charged money to have someone hunt. There are even several deer stands scattered around. The only NO - NO we have is no baiting with corn and NO - NO night hunting/shining.

We don't charge people for hunting on us either. If my husband sees someone on our hill and he doesn't know who they are he will ask them who they are. If they act responsible while hunting on us we let them hunt.

Yes that is one of the problems, so many people think that just because they bought hunting license they can hunt anywhere. They are not suppose (note said suppose) to hunt on private property but some hunters go crazy. Could write a book on what they have done and said.
It is getting to be the new "in" thing to charge for hunting.
We have let the ones who ask but 98% of them don't bother to ask, like it is their right. Also if we had gotten something out of them hunting in the pass would not be thinking of charging all we have ever gotten were shot cattle and cut fences.
We have 100 acres in MO. Good open land with creeks and woods.
There are lots of deer that run here for this place has alway been a safe place for them and feel bad doing it to them. But with that huge buck none of them are safe. I know we have had that before.
No houses close to the woods so safe there but with deer rifes never know.

I'll ask my hubby what would be the going price for hunting on land like that and get back with ya this afternoon.

Re: Hunters what would you pay to hunt?
You could set up a lease. Put up gates with locks to all the access roads to your property. And if anyone wants to hunt on your land they have to pay a yearly lease fee to get a key. That's what my boys do. They only have to pay $50 a year. But I'm sure prices vary in different areas. I always post my land. I don't like anyone hunting around my place accept for my family. So if I was you I would post a few acres around your house to keep it safe.
NEW ! => ISO LIST! please L@@K and see if you have something I need.
