Yup, Kosher works too, just make sure there is no iodine (what makes table salt bad), tea tree oil can be found in health food stores, I got mine at CVS in the nail care aisle (where all the nail files are).
Best way I saw for strength of the salt was to make it so it tasted like a chip, saltiness-wise, then dropped in two drops of tea tree oil, soaked the cotton balls and set them on my ear (if I was in the shower I'd just hold them, if I wasn't I'd use a towel to catch the drips), then I'd just use a dry q-tip to dry it off & de-gunk..takes a few weeks of doing, but it'll help it all heal. I didn't *really, seriously* start doing that till the convo I had w/ my doctor, I did it, got rid of the back bump, figured the front one would go away, per my usual, was told it wouldn't and started taking it seriously..
