Anyone Else Noticed This?????????

When doing paid surveys and any other surveys..when you get down to the end of it they ask demographic information and 9 times out of 10 when they ask what race a person is they have a question that asks if you are of Hispanic decent and then in the next question the lump all the other races. Does anyone know why this is. Mind you it makes no difference to me....i just noticed it and was curious if anyone could tell me why that is: Are they looking for more of these people from this race to join their panel?
Note.........do not get upset at me cause i am not asking to start something.only asking cause i am a GOOBER and did not know why.

My husband and I belong to the same survey sites. He is of Hispanic descent and I am not. We've found he does get more and different surveys (obviously he does cause he's a man ) but he also gets quite a few to take in Spanish as well. "They", the almighty survey companies, do seem to be looking for more Hispanic members. Lucky DH .

same thing here, i get that question also at the end of most of my surveys.

A couple survey sites that I do ask and it's usually because they are looking for minorites of any race or nationality. They need opinions of all kinds of folks because all kinds of folks purchase products. They need a cross section of opinions just like the US Census stuff we do, a way to include EVERYONE Sometimes they need 21 - 29 yr. olds, sometimes only men, pet owners, etc. T this was a good post

i always put in Native american, thats gotten me a few different surveys.. guess they are looking for minorities

What I can't figure out is why they list a whole bunch of groups for you to choose from, but then ask if you are of Hispanic descent separately. Why is that question not part of the group?
