The toxins were in my water
Years ago when hubby was stationed at Camp Lejeune, unknownst to me at the time, all the water I drank while stationed there came from from wells on the military base, several years ago I got a letter stating that the wells had been contaminated with dry cleaning fluid (a dry cleaners was dumping their cleaning fluids on the ground near the wells, and apparently they also want me to believe that they did not test the water at all either) and they were doing a study now on the women who were pregnant at that time as the toxins affected the fetus more so than the children who drank it and the adults. So apparently the only reason I am aware of this study was because I gave birth on the military base, others who were there drinking it probably have not been notified. My question is there anyone here who knows anything about this study and where there is information about what is going on now?

I agree someone should be contacted, that is so awful, hope your family is ok and that the base gets in trouble for allowing such goings on.

Why not call Camp Lejune and let them tell you what they know. Or even a law office in the area to see if there is a law suit going on.
I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints.

I found the name of the agency who did the survey, here are the results and the survey and more info on the situation, http://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/
The problem is that you see this website ends in gov. its sort of like sending a wolf in to count the sheep, I'm not sure I trust the info here. The problem with these kinds of toxins as I understand them is they are not water soluble they don't get washed out of the body after a period of time, they lay in the fatty tissue and can cause damage up to fifty years. This study was only done on the babies born there and believe me when I tell you that this has caused me a great deal of suffering and worrying, when I got that letter telling me about that study, my daughter was pregnant at the time, she was so happy and also had high blood pressure problems during her pregnancy, me and hubby made the choice to keep it from her until our grandchild was born, we were afraid that telling her would cause her to worry and send her blood pressure even higher. Fortunately she and the baby did fine and we told her soon after she had given birth. What PO's me really bad is that no one has said why the wells were not tested, this is on a military base, I would think someone would be in charge of testing the water supply. Also my three year old daughter at the time also drank the water, me and hubby drank the water, no study or report on what we can expect, and if these toxins lay in the fatty tissue then it could have possibly affected any child I gave birth too later, which means my son's health could also be affected. The negligence of not testing the water is absurd. Why would you not test the water supply for a military base on at least amonthly basis. I get very angry when I realize they probably have not notified all the people who drank the water. Military people come and go all the time on these bases, most only stay for a two year period anywheres. If you look at the time period given on this report, you can figure that probably at least a million people drank this water for two years or more, when I called about the study the woman explained that it would take time to complete as they had to find 60,000 mothers, now whether she gave me a correct figure I don't know.
Ignorance is bliss but the question is can we afford it?
