I have no advice on how adoption works but know how beautiful a thing it is. My Dad was adopted - along with his 2 biological sisters - and they had a wonderful life. So I just wanted to give you a hug for thinking of this and hope you know how wonderful you are!!! Good luck! (on a side note can I add for you to consider getting as much info as you can on the biological parents to give to the child when they are older. MEDICAL INFO IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!)

Hi I am trying to adopt my sisters foster baby. We have had the baby in our lives since he was born.He has brought so much joy into our lives that I do not care what we have to go thur I will do whatever to adot him.He is a light that seems to get brighter and brighter. He just turned 15 months I just can not see my life without him in it.I feel that he is a gift from God.So I guess what I am trying to say is that yes adoption is a roller coster ride;but I would much rather have road the ride than to have never atempted it at all.
Thanks happymommy

I am adopted, as is my sister. I can tell you that from my perspective, that it was a good thing. I am my mother's daughter. As she has told me, God did not plant me in her womb, but in her heart.
"If sometimes you feel yourself little, useless, offended and depressed, always remember that you were once the fastest and most victorious sperm out of hundreds of millions."
If Barbie is so popular, how come you have to buy all her friends????

I have not adopted, but I have a close friend who adopted a crack baby-she had him since he was hours old-now he is 2. She loves that baby just as if she gave birth to him; no difference at all. My cousin also adopted, she was madly in love with her child. My good friend was adopted along with her 3 brothers; she said she would never look for her "natural" mother, that it would break the mother who raised her heart. What is this thing about "natural" mother anyway?

It seems to me that the person(s) who raised you are your parents, not just someone who gave birth to you & a sperm doaner. After all, a parent stays up with you, reads you bed time stories, cleans up poop, pee, vomit, feeds you, clothes you, plus the million other things that a parent does day in & day out.
