Isn't champagne(sp?) considered alcohol?

Wouldn't you have to be 21 to drink it? Maybe it's not but I thought for sure it was..

Ok, thanks. Was just wondering because they are throwing a huge New Year's bash at a local club type place and they've been annoucing on the radio it's be for people 19 and over and later they'd have a champagne toast at midnight. Unless they are gonna check id's before they give them a drink but I don't know why they'd go to all that trouble..

If it's a club, they usually stamp your hand at the door. You'd have to show it to get the booze.

and she's 18. They put a HUGE stamp on the under 21 crowd so they aren't served.

They used to do the stamp thing at a bar around here, but then they realized all the under 21's had to do was go in the bathroom and scrub the stamp off. I mean DUH!

Most places stamp your hand if you are OVER 21!

They could be serving sparking cider to those under 21. Heck by midnight you could serve everyone sparking cider and they wouldn't care.

I don't know, I have never ever had it before, I would like to try it someday though, but I guess that will be in another life, LOL!
