This is the recipe I always use...very easy and very good.

    Scalloped Potatoes
Old Fashioned recipe of potatoes butter and milk, baked to perfection.

    Recipe by Betty Crocker

    Serves 6 people

    Ingredients
6 medium white potatoes, peeled and sliced
    salt and pepper, to taste
    2 tablespoons flour
    4 tablespoons butter
2 cups milk, or as needed
    Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place a layer of potatoes in a lightly greased 9x13" baking dish. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and flour and distribute broken bits of butter over the layer. Add another layer of potatoes, seasonings and butter. Continue until all the potatoes are used.

Pour in milk until potatoes are barely covered. Bake, uncovered, for 1 hour or until potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.

Recipe??? You need a recipe?? I was just throwing stuff in a pan last night LOL

This is what I did though. Slice my potatoes. Dice my ham slice up some onion. Put all that is a big baking pan that I put butter on the sides and bottom. Next I used 3 1/2 cups of milk and added one can of cream of mushroom soup to. ( Then I drained it so I wouldn't have to eat the mushrooms. LOL Then I added some onion and garlic powder to that and about 5 tablespoons of flour. I poured it over potatoe ham onion mixture and sliced up a stick of butter. I baked it at 425 for almost 1 1/2 or so. Very easy, just time cunsuming because of all the cutting. It was good Dh said maybe next time to use canned milk because it was a bit dry, but I thin k that is how scalloped potatoes are supposed to be. I donno. LOL

Hope it turns out ok for you!!

I just posted this same thing in Whats for dinner 12/30/03. HTH

not exactly scalloped potatoes and ham but this is one of my favorite...having it tonight. I posted the recipe on the mac and cheese thread.

4 cups peeled cooked cubed potatoes
    2 cups cubed ham
    2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
    1/2 cup mayo
    1/3 cup milk
    salt and pepper to taste

mix all together and bake at 350 for 30-40- min or until bubbly.
