I went to WalMart and bought one of their big heavy plastic crates. I got the biggest one they had and I crate trained both of my dogs in it. They are older now and not in need of the crate but it made a big difference in how much furniture I had left after teething. I think I paid about $50 for the crate.

Jod, How big of a crate do you need?? We have one we used for the puppy we have, but he had to be put outside because he was getting after the baby. I think it is not the smallest but maybe the next highest before the middle. I know we paid around $35 at Walmart for it, but if you want it let me know we can work something out. OK!!
Sometimes it is hard to let go of a memory, especially if you remind yourself of it everyday.

I have a heavy metal one but let me tell you if you are trying to crate train a pitbull its not gonna work! At least it did not for us. Her jaws of steal just lifed that metal up just enough for her to slide the tray out and then squeeze out herself! The plastic one she destroyed! I paid about $50 for my metal one.

That's my problem. He is always getting out. Then he lets the puppy out. I found this crate for him:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=20745
    But it's way to expensive.

Jeek doesn't need crate trained. He just needs locked up when we aren't home. Lately he has been eating my house, literally. I don't know what else to do with him. KMart had one on sale for 57 dollars! (plastic) It was just day old and he ate the side out!!

I wanted to edit to add he has chew toys, and he gets walked twice a day!!!

i use a wire bird cage, including the feeding and watering bird bowls. my dog is 2 pounds. i don't think that'll work for a pit though, go to a farm and fleet store and check for an animal cage, they are stronger metal than those you buy at walmart or pet stores, they can be pricey but they will keep in a pit.

How long are you gone from home? Is a muzzle a choice? Or, can you set him up a run outside?

Well now it's just a few at a time once in a while. But I may be going back to work this week snad it will be 9 hours a day. I won't muzzle him for 9 hours. The run is impossible. It's cold. We also have Ginny's the run loose, as well as ducks. He has a very high prey drive and can snap alot of chains. I have saw it happen. He has to be on a short leash just to go pee pee outside for a minute.

My only solution for you would be to have someone make you one out of some heavy duty metal that is thick. It might cost you but in the long run if it is really heavy duty then it will cost you less than having to keep buying new ones.

Mine is a bit thicker than the one on ebay and cost less by about $180!! It won't work. Have someone weld you one from some heavy duty metal. I don't think you are going to be able to buy one that is heavy enough. I never found one anyways. I know someone that welds and will ask him what type of material for you to look at to have someone weld you one if you'd like.
