Does anyone have a pug?
We are thinking of getting a pug puppy for Christmas for our family! Anything specific I should look for? Any help is appreciated

I have two pugs and love both of them dearly. There are some drwabacks to owning pugs. Pugs shed volumes of hair yearround. I vacuum very often and still have pug hair everywhere. This is a cuase for concern for people who have allergies or just want a very clean house. With their bulging eyes, they are also prone to having eye problems. You might contact a local vet and discuss things to look for in a pug and their potntial health problems.

Those are great tips...things I would not know about before getting a pug. I think they are adorable!!! We are debating getting a fawn or black pug

Sometimes it is hard to let go of a memory, especially if you remind yourself of it everyday.

Hi, I'm the pug lady of Savannah, I have 3 pugs and I love them! They are the most loveable wonderful additions to our family (besides my 2 daughters)! Our pugs are named StudLee, GizMo, and ElVis. We treat them just like they are our children. They are spoiled rotten! I wouldn't trade them for all the money in the world. They are all fawn, and we would love to eventually get us a black one. They were all "rescued" pugs, but I think they really rescued me - they keep me happy, healthy (except for my severe allergies, but they are worth it) and free from depression. They will give you love and companionship for life. If you need any more information about my loveable adopted children, just let me know. pugladylinda

We have had pugs for 20+ years and none of them have ever shed. And if any of them shed at all, it was a small amount hardly any at all.

We have had Pugs for 20+ years, my mom actually raises and sometimes breeds them. I have had both Fawn and Black pugs and I by far like the black best. I have a fawn female (Molly) right now. All together between my mom, my sister and myself we have 6 Pugs right now. I think they really are great little dogs. Like I said above, in the 20+ years that we have had pugs, we have never had a problem with shedding, and if there was any shedding, it was such a small amount that you could hardly notice.
No matter what happens, somebody will find a way to take it too seriously.

Wow they sound like the drawback are way less than the bonuses of adding a member to the family! Thank you sooo much for all the great info I really want to make the right decision for my family and think this through. We are in a rental and I was not sure what the landlord would say but he said "YES" now its up to us

i do have a question for you pug lovers my freind just bought one and she found out it was diabetic this was only after it started having sesizuires is this common in pugs cause i am scared to buy one for my little girl i mean can you tell before hand this lady never told her

As for what to look for, I'm not sure... mom bought ours from a friend whos daughter was allergic to him. They are realy lovable though.
